    The PERFECT Electrolux Commercial upright

We tried the Sanitaire style upright at work and didn't like it. Same motor and agitator. For what ever reason just didn't seem to perform or handle the same. I noticed the arc on the handle was different. We were using the dust cup model. Which in some ways is sad as they are cost...

Thank you. Maybe it should be locked and left as a reminder to all. To learn to play nice together.

Has anyone seen a Kirby like this?

I just want to cry when I see a painted Kirby. I like beauty of stained and varnish wood work. The high shine and luster of a polished aluminum housing on a Kirby vacuum really gets my attention. Even more if the trim package is red. I really like the look of the Model 519 and the Classic III.

Does anyone own one of these Premiers?

What is the amp rating on this vacuum? I have found I like the performance of direct air uprights over the machines with a live hose for floors.

    Westinghouse "Portable" Upright

I have a hand vacuum like that one. Minus the upright style handle. That is an apartment size vacuum for sure. My Mother always refers to Kirby vacuums prior to 1970 as apartment size vacuums. Some day when she says that I'm going to ask her if she considers her 1973 Kirby omega model a house...

A note to V land friends

@ultralux88 Many of us would like it to end here and NOW !!!!! The only way to put and end to this on going argument is for ALL parties directly concerned to STOP the the argument. Or take it up in private messages to one another as suggested. Lets start acting like adults and not two year...

    Vacuum recommendation

On thing to keep in mind is what kind of surfaces you will be cleaning. Also How often you clean those surfaces is a huge consideration in choosing a vacuum that will be one you enjoy using instead of dreading. Uprights and canister vacuums have their place in the cleaning arsenal. Uprights...

Why have vacuum attachments gotten so dinky over the years?

I agree some of the attachments with today's vacuums are not the useful tools they once were. I myself have had good luck with Kirby's zip brush. Probably the only air/turbine powered attachment that has really impressed me. It seems those tools lend themselves better to a built in vacuum...

A Great Hoover Rarity Has Been Found

Nice find. Been in the commercial cleaning game since 1987. First time I ever saw a commercial concept. We even had a Hoover store here in our area and never saw one in the store or any literature about them. What years were they produced and sold??? We used the Hoover Conquests and...

Miele Bags Letting Dog Hair Escape

I have never had that issue with having a cat or taking care of a my parents Pug/Rat Terrier mix dog. Not even my mom has had that issue and we both have Kirby's. Our machines use the older style bags on one machine and the newer cloth type F bag on the Sentria models we both have.

    Royal Commercial Uprights Question

I didn't notice that on any of the machines I worked on. How ever all the ones I had were hard wired to the motor thru the motor shell. From the diagram it looks to be used to secure the cord so that it doesn't pull the cord loose from the switch located in the upper part of the handle.

    Kirby vacuette

That is true it is the ultimate vacuum for collectors. Being that I am died in the wool Kirby all the way. I would love to have one of each of the renditions that lead us to what is known as the Kirby Vacuum. I just wish I had that kind of disposable cash and a proper place to display it.

    Kirby vacuette

Thank you Dysonman1. But I will stick with the modern day Kirby. It is by far a more efficient cleaning machine and multitasker to boot. And are parts still available???? (LOL)

    Cadillac in the UK

Wow that has a lot of power switches on it. One on the handle and two on the motor housing. What do all of them control?

As much as I would like to have one of those. It is way out of my price range.

Kirby Tradition - Recalled Safety Switch

It was the D50 at the time the armature wires were not glued or varnished together like they are today. There for the increase in RPM of the armature pulled the wires loose and the motor would fail.
