I have a question about Central Vacuum.

The suggestion here has been to stay with a physical Filter of some type as opposed to the cyclonic separation models. Which makes sense any particle not heavy enough to be spun out of the air stream will pass thru the system. Much like some particles don't wet easy and bounce off the water in...

    Got a new toy!

The Sentria is a nice machine. I use mine more than my Heritage II.

Oh yes better Air flow will do that. My grandmother made the same comments that any carpet she picked up didn't have the heavy dust or dirt under them since she got a Kirby. The rental I am in had new carpet and padding when I moved in. After 20 years the carpet was worn out. It was a velvet...

Are the replacement brush rolls now the same design as what is in the G series machines. I haven't needed to purchase new brush roll. I did see them on the Kirby website and wondered if they had been updated or just a stock picture that was modified to reflect the ends for that model.

I'm thinking then it more about the density of the pile. I have plush carpet as well but not the high end plush. vacuuming one direction is hard. vacuuming in the opposite direction or side to side is much easier. Sometimes it is hard to find the right setting for good contact with out to...

What are your thoughts on Aerus?

I'm not a huge fan of canister type vacuums. I like the unit in front of me. However I would think that the "retro" style canister would do a very good job.

    Got a new toy!

W-40 or similar and a pair of pliers to work the claps a little has helped me a few times free them up. Or a Dry lubricant. That won't drip and leave oily stains. I have some at work but can't think of the name of it at the moment.

Hamilton Beach Hat box Vacuum Bags?

Looks like it would take a bag shaped like a tube. Hoover celebrity bag. possibly? Can't remember what the Connie bag looks like. Maybe an option.

Has anyone ever heard of this strange kenmore

Talk about some serious grooming action. That is it. I can imagine belts and the gears to operate both agitators failing from all the additional stress. Wonder how the carpet manufactures felt about that machine. As some wont warranty carpet if you use a Dyson due to the very stiff brush tufts.

What style of carpet are you finding the machine hard to vacuum? If it is a looped carpet setting and finding setting 2 is just a little to high and setting 1 is too low. Maybe a screw that is a little longer may help with the micromatic adjustment. When I sent my Heritage II in for rebuild...

APRIL OF 1990 Kirby G3 restore.

What a nice work shop to perform miracles. Anthony If it is the only one you have to clean things up it is what you use. I Kept my old 18' wide dish washer when I bought a new one. Some day I hope to be able to used it for the same purpose.

Miele Bags Letting Dog Hair Escape

I too was thinking maybe at some point the seal was broken where the bag and the cover meet there by letting some hair by pass thru the opening. As hard as anyone has tried it is hard to make the perfect seal in this situation. And or checking to see if it was time to change the bag a small...

Miele Bags Letting Dog Hair Escape

vacuumdevil I do understand the bag(s) in question are for a clean air machine. So far everyone I know that has or had pets and used any vacuum with a disposable bag hasn't mentioned a similar experience with hair passing thru the bag. Or they just took it for granted it happens. It is a...

What the best/your favorite "mainstream" vaccums and brands?

At one time it was the bagged Hoover Windtunnel. Worked very well and the upfront cost was under $200.00 at the time. Add a 25' extension cord and you were good to go. I liked them for our accounts that were 5,000 sq. ft. or under. So far it is the only clean air upright I can honestly say I...

I have a question about Central Vacuum.

I would defiantly ask questions about the motor itself. Which style is the most reliable. The pass thru or bypass motors. Bypass would certainly help keep dust out of the motor. proper cooling could be a possible issue with bypass as it uses a separate fan for cooling the motor. Also is 240...

Kirby Vacuum Sighting on TLC’s “Counting On”

As large as that family is and the size of the house. One could probably fill the collection hopper on the city's vac all weekly. Then again like many people I have trained to clean a building they seem to have no idea the dirt goes some where. The Plumb full bags I have emptied on the...

Vacuums you find or found to be scary?

@fan-of-fans I wouldn't let taking in a vacuum to do tasks that the cleaning person isn't assigned to do stop me. I took my Kirby with attachments to work with me on Sunday a few times when I worked in the cargo office for Midwest Express. Sundays were quite days. Coming from a cleaning...

I have a question about Central Vacuum.

No doubt direct connect would offer the best performance. The shorter the air path the better the performance. In the words of Tim the tool man Taylor "more power" At the moment I'm hanging on to the cash to apply to a home of my own. I'm out of room for anything in the rental unit I'm in...

I have a question about Central Vacuum.

Mike Good recommendation with out seeing the video. If there are performance or overall quality issues is good to know. A well informed buyer will have no regrets. Unless you know someone with a built is system there is no way to "get some mud on the tires and test out the 4 wheel drive" so...

A Tier and Special tier vacuum brands

Hence my serious desire to take cleaning to the next level. Being a central vacuum can also produce the air flow and inches of water lift of a commercial twin motor box extractor and or even better with the right power unit and be used to effectively clean hard surface floors with the proper...
