    recent vacuum sightings on TV

Will have to keep an eye out for that one! I have seen Pearl (Howard's wife) bringing a 1970s Hoover Junior down from upstairs, and in one scene Glenda brings a Junior like upright into her Mum's kitchen after using it,,i think it was a Hotpoint, not sure.

    eBay Thread #5

WOW,,so THATS what a Bee Vac looks like! I dont think ive ever seen one before. How cool. In the early 1970s, an Aunt had that exact same DAM. She traded in an older Convertible for it, because it matched her lime green stove, refrig, and dishwasher. She kept the DAM parked next to her fridge...

JC Penney "2 Two Motor Upright Vacuum"

Back in 1983-84 when i lived in an apt., a neighbor guy that lived next door had this same one, in yellow, with the JC Penny badge. It did have a hose and cheapy plastic attachments, seems like there was a little spring loaded door on the back somwehere to attach the hose. Never used this...

    Hoover Celebrity Brochure Scans.

I love the term "Tool Garden" in the ad on the first one! I had a green Celeb. 4 with the chrome top for a few yrs, and it was an excellent vacuum and fun to use. I wanna say it was from around 1984? I think that vac was maybe TOO powerful tho because the bags kept bursting, and not because...

    My new Eureka Chrome Top

What year was it made? Im guessing early to mid 1970s? A neighbor lady we had in around 74-75 had one of these, only no chrome top, just the light blue with the dark blue bumper and trim, but it did have the eact same bag, Dial-a-Nap, handle, and rocker On/Off switch. She was elderly, and...

"So good, it carries a 5-YEAR service guarantee!"

Alex, your memory is very good! There most definatly IS an episode of Hazel where she is using this exact same MH, but its NOT the episode your thinking of. The one your thinking of,is where Hazel (or her boss Mr. B) buys a new vacuum cleaner that is faulty, and Hazel shows up at the board of...

"So good, it carries a 5-YEAR service guarantee!"

I like the teeeny little upholstry nozzle! I'll bet that machine was a beast to schlep around a large multi level home with wall to wall carpet, AND carpeted stairs,,Poor Hazel!

What was the strangest thing you found stuck in a vintage vacuum

A friend who sells and installs Central Vacs told me once that a customer called him all irate and upset because of poor suction at all of her inlets. Wasnt just a few, but all. So he went over to her house to find out what the problem was. Ha, well, turns out the woman's grade school age...

    Electrolux Silverado

The suction power of the Silverado is stronger than any of the machines before it, because the Silverado has a newer and more powerful (and slightly louder) motor than the others. The Silverado is reguared by many Electrolux authorities as modern day Electrolux at its VERY finest, and the last...

How Long Are Commercial-Duty Vacuums Used?

Ive owned a Hair Styling business for 30 years, and have ALWAYS had a KIRBY Classic Omega in the shop. The Omega has had HARD use,,,being used MANY times during the work day. My shop is in operation 5 days a week. The Kirby has NEVER EVER failed, EVER, and is STILL going strong to this very...

    electrolux hose

Well, maybe. You could try it, but your best bet is to get a new hose. IF you are not fussy about Genuine parts,,you can get a generic replacment hose for your DJ for under 50 dollars on E-Bay. Or, ask at your local vac shop for a used saran hose. Anything would be better than what you have...

Eureka Roto-Matic Power Team Model 1255

Wow, that brings back a memory. A neighbor lady had the red Eureka with the red PN when i was a kid, in the mid 1970s. Would have been 1975-76. I was facinated with it, and she had heavy long thick shag carpet. She would pay me a couple of bucks to come over and do her vacuuming, and i was...

    Eureka C2057 and Panasonic MC5510 (1980s)

Also, Is it a dump bag system on these Hoovers or what exactly is the "Built in Debris Trap"? Is it just a heavy fabric bag on these or? I bet that is one mean rug beater! About what year were these made? Im assuming late 70s or early 80s?
