    Hoover Electric Broom model S2015.

Paul: Before the Handi-vac which replaced the Pixie, there was the Lark. How interesting the way these models evolved. The Lark came out the same time the Hoover Floor Washer did, and both were in the same blue as shown in the pic above. However, the floor washer was usually in yellow.

    Possibly rare Electrolux hose question

Electrolux CA. Hi Kenny: I just saw your video and that seems to be the correct hose. Actually, there were two, the first is what you have, and yes, it would be extra-long as it was designed for commercial use. As to the other hose, it was rubber, and designed for wet pick-up. The CA...

    Electrolux LX questions?

Serial number. Hi Nick: I believe the number is etched into the outer part of the bag chamber assembly. To the left of the lever to open the front cover. If you open the front cover, there are a series of numbers. These are patent numbers for models from 1924.to the model LX. Alex. T.

    Electrolux LX questions?

Removal of the side pannels. Hi Nick: If by 'side panels' you mean the ones reading Electrolux, that's very easy. First open the bag chamber using the lever on the front cover then depending on the configuration with Companion, or Cary-on tool holder, and cord winder in place, remove both...

    Antique Doty bellows sweeper

Date is wrong by about 30 years. The 'Doty' goes back to about 1916 and was the design of Daniel B Replogle. Never heard of him? bet you did. He was a doctor in Toledo, Ohio with a deep concern about dust in the air. Dr. Replogle had many ideas not just the Doty, which I think was named for a...

    James Kirby 1916 non-electric question

I believe it was Vital-Rand, as I have one, but without the window. Vital-Rand were prototypes for the Vac-U-Ette, working test models designed to see what housewives thought. Jim Kirby was known for loaning various machines to people in the Cleveland area to get their reactions. Primarily...

    Here's to another 41 years.

The 'Vault.' The vault was a huge area where not only Hoover prototypes, and whatnot, but also other brands of vacuum cleaners were stored. The vault was off limits. Not even the top brass of Hoover could go in. But in August of 1979, Skip Marquadt, head of engineering and design let me inside...

Thank you odavid123 & Paul. John, Gottahaveahoove knows this all too well. The club got it's start in I think August of 1979 when I went to the Hoover Historical Center and met with Stacy Krammes. She gave me tons of written material and pictures of not only Hoover, but other vacuum cleaners...

Yesterday was the forty-first anniversary of THE VACUUM CLEANER COLLECTOR'S CLUB. We were the first, and originally a teaching club as there was no internet. All we had were phone calls and snail mail. And the only source of reaching others was with the Newsletter. Through this we covered the...
