What vacuum does this go to?

The reason for the chain is to hang it on a doorknob if the user prefers not to mount it on the cleaner.

What vacuum does this go to?

This is called a Companion, and it is part of the post-war Electrolux model XXX. It rests on top of the cleaner and serves as a holder for the rug tool, floor brush, dusting brush, and upholstery tool.

Does anyone know the name of pigtail plugs?

The Cord winder was made for Electrolux by the Vacuum Cleaner Corporation of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania from the mid 1940's to the 70's starting with the post war model XXX. As the Electrolux factory was in Old Greenwich, Connecticut, it was in a residental area and could not make rubber parts...

Does anyone know the name of pigtail plugs?

The cords for Electrolux vacuum cleaners were made by the Belden cord and wire company in Chicago and then Geneva, Illinois in the 1930's-the 80's. I have no info on the present date. I don't think there is a spacific name for the pig-tail, I think that IS the name. Maybe others can help on that...

Early Electrolux data. Hi Paul: I have access to my paperwork again, but its in several boxes. Yes I have my patent books at hand but am unable to scan right now. I promise to upload things again when I get a working scanner. Not easy when working with a laptop.

    History of steam cleaners/carpet cleaners?

Electrolux floor polisher. Paul, there was a three brush polisher with the model 5 (V) in 1924, I think it was B-1. Can't say for sure if it had attachments to wash carpets. I'll check my Electrolux paperwork.

    Electrolux Model LX Question

How loud is this whistle? Is it heard over the sound of the motor? As I recall, when the wrapper (bag) was almost full it would whistle indicating it was ready to eject. Maybe you should check all rubber parts. As I say, this machine would be 72 years old.
