    Found a GE today at an estate sale...

    Start with super fine 000 steel wool, then Flitch polish. The buffing wheel of a Kirby Handi Butler on the flexible shaft works wonders,followed by some towels to wipe away any residual film.

    vacuum followed me home today!

    off the beaten path Yes,the reason beater bars work with airlifted carpets is the carpet is lifted to the nozzle and the tap,release,tap,release action of the bars cause the carpet to flutter or vibrate from the several thousand RPM action of the bars. But on glued down carpets they act more...

    Bison roaming here in the UK...

    Home ,home on the vacuum range Wonderful! Thanks for posting this! BTW,would you be so kind as to possibly post the instruction book under owners manual section? I saw one awhile back and that cover shot of little miss priss 1968 posing daintily from the distance as she admires that gleaming...

    vacuum followed me home today!

    Beats! Shakes! Sweeps! Combs! Suction Cleans! A slightly used Hoover Convertible belt solves the brush-stop issues without undue motor-bearning stress. BTW, someone slid out the beater bars on that VG 1 and added an extra row of brushes I'd say. On today's glued down carpets,this arrangement is...

    first home extractor

    Before the Regina upright Steemer, the 1st actually to purchase for home use was the Regina System III, which was a canister with a power nozzle,in fact the same PN which was on some of their Electrik Brooms and also served as a huge extractor that looked suspiciously like a Rinse-n-Vac. This...

    Picture of the day

    This GE was a 1959 ad. Lucy often wore Capris in I Love Lucy but Laura Petrie DID popularize them on The Dick Van Dyke Show which ran from 1961-1966.

    Todays find;

    The PN may need a new belt plus the suction could be bled off so as not to seal too close to that rug and slow the VG II down.

    Very hard to find parts abound

    We go back to the 1950s,even have Constellation felt secondary filters,Sunbeam orange bags, Singer bags from the 70s, etc. Call if interested. Lots of Hoover metal fans for Convertibles also. Hoover parts are BIG around here but not pre WW II.

    Very hard to find parts abound

    Hey gang,I've been filling in at a Milwaukee vacuum shop,noticing scads of very hard to find out of date parts as I clean. It's an Oreck shop that has for years and years carries lots of other things. Their number is 414-769-8787.
