    Eureka Model 1414 Bicentennial Edition

Another Bicentennial model In my previous post, I mentioned that I had seen a pagoda hooded Eureka with a Bicentennial bag on it. Well, I was digging around and found this photo on Pinterest. I’m not sure whose collection this is or if it’s a production model, but it does seem to be the same...

    Eureka Model 1414 Bicentennial Edition

My Bicentennial Eureka Hello all! I’ve seen the different ads for the Bicentennial Eurekas for years and found a few more including 1 from Macy’s that advertised both the Eureka and Convertible Bicentennial models. I have only found record of the Eurek model 1414, but I have also seen one of...

The Design and Creation of the GE Roll-Easy Vacuum!

Westinghouse MC-1 Here’s the Roll Easy’s competitor, the Westinghouse MC-1. I also figured I’d get a photo of it with Roll Easy, which is the 3rd iteration of the machine.

    How’s your collection displayed?

My Bison Yes! I did manage to find a Bison for my collection. It's sitting back in a corner in the second picture. I have a Centurion, which unfortunately blends in with the darkness.

    How’s your collection displayed?

My Collection Room Here are some pictures of my current vacuum room. I use shelving for canisters as well as some advertising. I also take the handles off of Kirbys and some Hoovers to take advantage of space. Unfortunately this is only about a third of everything I have, but it works for...

    Something Worth Waiting For...

Thank you all for the kind words! I really did try hard to make this one nice. The Kenmore Imperial "Bugeye" ran for about 2 to 3 years until the Deluxe came out in 1940. However, this as well as the later Deluxe, were the top of the line and cost about as much as a house payment back then, so...

    Something Worth Waiting For...

The ESSCO Ad Here is the ad in question that used the Imperial as well as others from the collection. If you look closely, you can see that it’s still missing the bumper and that they unraveled the cord for the picture (most likely because it was falling apart even then). I’m sure that the cord...

And the finishing touch! Unfortunately the bumper was missing, but thanks to some research and some ideas from other collectors, I was able to make a new bumper out of a rubber tie down and it looks great!

    Something Worth Waiting For...

And here it is! It was a bit dirty and dusty when I got it, but it was a complete machine. Unfortunately the cord that was on it was completely dried up and falling apart, so this was right after I put a newer safe cord on it.

    Something Worth Waiting For...

I’m sure a lot, if not most of you saw the post with this picture in it (photo credit to HardlyFlick). Like many of you, I saw many amazing things in that post and as tempting as some of them seemed, one stood out to me more than any of them. When I heard that they had all been sold to Mr. Kyle...
