    quiet vacuum?

Probably the quietest vacuum I own is my Electrolux Ultra Silent (Actually a Eureka Product), a new machine, very powerful, only 8 amps, but the air movement is louder than the vacuum. My Miele is also very quiet. I would also agree with those who have posted above, the Original Electrolux G...

    A blast from my past!

Thanks everyone! I am writing them a note this weekend and sending pictures. There are things in life that make you stronger and a better person. I have never regretted my childhood as I have always felt people were sent to me, people like Florence, for a purpose. My God works in and through...

    A blast from my past!

As a young child my parents were really bad alcoholics and we had a woman by the name of Florence that would babysit for us right after supper so mom and dad could go drinking...now this was not once or twice a week but almost every night except Sundays because alcohol couldn't be served on...

    Decade 80 find...Goodwill strikes again!

You are lucky Hans, Most of the time the labeling on those machines is scratched to pieces. My guess is 80"s.... Great cleaners....and a top fill bag which did improve the performance. I know they are smaller but I use the synthetic cloth type Y bags in mine to improve filtration. Morgan

Well, this week has been productive!

Scott, That Royal is an awesome find. My guess is it will have the highest airflow of any of the machines you found this week. The Simplicity upright looks like a nice machine as well. Never used one but looks similar to the Panasonics. Doest it have a metal sole plate and brush roll. Morgan

There's not enough EUREKA in the vintage section!

<span style="font-size: 14pt;">All of those were great cleaners.  Eureka made some great vacuums.  In my area they were far more poplular than Hoover.  Personally I always felt they cleaned better.  The top fill bag was far better than the Hoover C bag.  The early models with the distribulator...

    Eureka Roto Matic

A friend from church was cleaning out her moms home and found this. I cleaned it up and plan on selling it for her. I was amazed at the air flow this machine has. I put on a new cord and switch and she runs like new. When I first fired her up, she was so quiet and had little air flow, check...
