most, Eureka uprights.... are dated under the base, there's a circle, with a little nub in the center (we call this a nipple, for obvious reasons). this should contain two (2) numbers that make up the last two numbers of the year (minus the 19**). For instance, mine read 73. Witch then means...

well im going to take a flying leap and guess.... the only difference i see, is one has a smooth handle center (believe that's the 517), and the other has the ribbed like a 518 and a Sanitronic 562 and 7 (which i think that's the 519). Just a guess...=)
