    Another Decent Machine Discontinued

you were a nobody if you didnt have a vax! I remember very well the Vax craze, but I also remember how many people bought them on the strength of adverts making them look VERY easy to use but realising how much of a faff they were to convert from dry to wet and back again, so ended up buying an...

    Another Decent Machine Discontinued

The 111 had white tools like the 101 did. The black hose and tools arrived with the 121. Love them or hate them, they’re definitely iconic and responsible for the very popular trend of carpet washing machines, though I always found their rival, the Hoover Aquamaster, was better

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

why I really miss these fantastic regulations The EU vacuum regulations are still in place in terms of power and filtration. The only thing that was scrapped was the performance ratings system as the testing was proving to be ineffective and did not represent real domestic use. But the wattage...

Do you hate Hoover? This is the perfect ranting thread!

I don’t *hate* Hoover, certainly the vacuum cleaner as we know it wouldn’t exist without them. But from the 1970’s onwards, they were always one step behind the completion, particularly from Electrolux and then from the likes of Panasonic and Hitachi into the 80’s. When Hoover were still...

    Electrolux

And my 506. Quite a rare model now as it didn’t last long and was superseded by the 560, which is identical.

any toy vacs that are interesting? maybe for sale?

When I was little, I had a few toy vacs. Mostly bought as Christmas or birthday presents. My first one was a toy Hoover Turbopower based on the U2336. Like it's adult counterpart, the plastic was incredibly brittle and it cracked and broke and had a sharp edge on the handle. My Dad tried to...

Information on the Turbopower 1000/2/3 please!

Jake, Littlewoods the shop never sold electricals, it was very much like BHS. Littlewoods the catalogue however did. As did Index which was a catalogue collection service like Argos.

Information on the Turbopower 1000/2/3 please!

RE: JMB Just for info regarding the JMB brand. This was never a brand in its own right, they were just rebadged Dirt Devil’s exclusive for Littlewoods-Index.

    Heres some pics for you

You haven’t done anything “wrong”, but it is a little bit silly to keep commenting on threads that are over 10 years old, posted by members who no longer own those cleaners or even post on the forum anymore. You also seem to just keep commenting on the same posts until someone comments. Just a...

    Different types of Electrolux Velocitys

We haven't had that design for a number of years. Neither have we. That design is easily 15 years old, if not more. Long since gone, as has the Electrolux brand in the U.K.

    Electrolux Velocity

My friends Mum had a blue animal model. 1800w, I think, with a turbo brush mounted on the front.

    Electrolux Velocity

Sorry that’s not true. I don’t have any bagless vacuums, let alone a Velocity. I have used a fair few over the years though and wasn’t impressed, although they were marginally better than the Vitesse

    Electrolux Velocity

It’s rare because they were rubbish, unreliable and irreparable when they broke

That Velocity is long gone and Rob doesn’t post much on here anymore. Please check when these posts are originally from. A lot can change in 13 years.

Deciding between Miele C3 cat and dog, Sebo Felix and Sebo E3 Premium

In addition, none of the UK Miele’s have a power nozzle port so even if you buy one, they won’t be compatible. The Sebo Felix is a great vacuum but very top heavy. My own mother had to get rid of hers as it was too too heavy and impacted the arthritis that she has in her wrist snd thumbs...
