    Kirby Sanitronic VII Bag

Actually, both of those bags are not original. The original San 7 bag had the Kirby logo in circles close together, touching. The first example you posted is a Kirby replacement, but not what came on the vacuum when new. The second is some kind of aftermarket bag. Check out the photo in the...

I was very naughty and treated...

Congrats James, you just have to have every Kirby. And why not? You have pretty much every other Kirby model ever produced. I am thinking of getting the next model when it comes out next year. It would be nice to have an anniversary machine. Anyways, enjoy your new Kirby! Chad

    Kirby 510 restoration in progress

Looks great, I wish I could turn out work as good as that. I'd probably make it look worse than it started out as. I don't do well painting things.

    Kirby Factory Rebuild Experiences

Just to add some info.. If you take of parts you should replace them with other color parts or parts in poor shape. If they vacuum arrives missing parts, Kirby will charge extra for the missing parts. Oh, I also found out you have to use genuine Kirby parts. If you put on aftermarket parts, they...

Tarnish Remover-Is it safe for my Kirby?

Looks like you should NOT use Tarn-X on your Kirby. It says it is not safe for aluminum. This is a quote from a site with directions for use: Important: Do Not Use On Stainless Steel, Chrome, Pewter, Aluminum, Brass, Artificially Oxidized Silver, Lacquered Surfaces, Pearls Or Porous Stones...

    Kirby Logo History

Paul, the Kirby logo actually changed over the years. The original logo was based on James Kirby's signature but later one's were not. I believe Charles Lester's Kirby site has information on the various changes.

    Wireless Vac-u-ette

Calem, I have a Kirby Utility. It is mainly a hand vac but converts to a demother/insecticide sprayer. It's a rather odd setup for a handvac. Here is a link to the thread I posted right after I got it. I also just found a copy of that book by Thomas Lowell Alex mentioned. I didn't even know it...

Found a Rare Air-Way Hand Vacuum

Last weekend I found a rather unusual vacuum. It's an Air-Way hand vacuum. It looks like it is a royal 501 hand vacuum branded as an Air-Way. Does anyone know anything about this vacuum? I have never seen one before. I have seen some Montgomery Ward's and a few other different brands using the...

Found a compact Electra anniversary edition need information

The fact that your Compact has PB in the model number means that it was able to have a Power nozzle or "Power Brush" thus PB. If you look towards the back of the machine, near the power switch, there should be a Power Nozzle outlet, its white. The power nozzle that went with this Compact is very...

Getting Scratches out of Metal Parts

You can either do what Will says and use a regular sander or you can use the bench grinder with a different wheel/compound. I use a sisal wheel with an emery compound. The sisal wheel is a rougher buffing wheel and the emery is a harsher compound. It works pretty well for me. Chad

    Hoover model 28

Mitchell, Please don't create a new thread about something already being discussed in another. I have seen this happening several times lately. You can add new posts to the original thread you created, you don't need to create a new one to add additional comments. Thanks, Chad

    Auction with Vintage Vacuums

And for the most precious item I found.... the Hoover Rug. I have always wanted one of the these and it seems that about every other serious collector seems to have one. Well, now I do too. And I got it for the hugely sum of two dollars. John Long, I have vowed to only vacuum on it with a...

    Auction with Vintage Vacuums

More And can anyone tell me if the bag on the Franken Hoover Model 63 is the First Convertible 65 Bag? It does say "Citation" on it but it is narrow like the later Convertibles.
