Just go with the “Jet” Flo.

Epoxy? It's hard to tell from the photo how badly damaged the handle grip really is. However, you might also try to epoxy the bits back together. I did that once on a power nozzle and the broken part ended up being stronger. I've always wanted to a Jet Flo. They look like great machines...

    505 515 ? What Is It Really ?

I used to own two 513s. One had the old 3 amp motor. Later in the production run, Kirby introduced a 4 amp motor. I had that one too. Unfortunately, I gave them both away! There were several changes introduced that year: new motor, trim, and flip down cord hook.

    505 515 ? What Is It Really ?

I'm guessing I'm guessing that it is a Model 513. Does the handle have a flip down cord hook? I'm thinking Kirby introduced that change with the 513. I'm pretty sure the trip and handle grip had already transitioned to red by then. Others with more knowledge would know for sure.

    This weekend's estate sale finds

Nice Finds! You picked up some great vacuums! I once had a Model L like yours but gave it away for some reason. Great to see you the other day too. Thanks again for stopping by my office!

    What’s your favorite kirby

I have two! My top favorite is the 560, which was manufactured the year I was born. The tweed bag design is classic 50s style. The other is Dual Sanitronic 80. Nothing says, "Hello 1967!" like the avocado green color scheme.

    Oiling an Electrolux PN2

would this work? I'm wondering if this is what to use...or maybe just sewing machine oil?

    Oiling an Electrolux PN2

I'm cleaning up a PN2 that came with my Golden J. What kind of oil should I use on the brush roll bearings? Thanks!

    A Model L Kick!

Thanks Nathan! This blue model has the newer style motor. It is quiet, yet very powerful . . . something today's vacuum manufacturers need to learn!

    A Model L Kick!

I just gave this Model L a spa treatment inside and out, all the way down to a motor disassembly and clean out. Just wondering if someone can tell me PN would have been sold with this unit. Also, would the tools be aqua or beige? Thanks!

Paper Filter Bags for Kirby Sanitronic VII

Can you post a photo of the cloth bag? If it is a traditional Kirby setup, it won't take paper filter bags. It sounds like yours may have an aftermarket setup designed to take Eureka F & G paper bags.

My 2nd refurbished Eureka 3712B canister

Nice work! I love those old Eureka canisters for their simplicity and power. I have a couple that I've restored. Great work!

    Electrolux Model L on Steroids!

Electrolux137 I love that Eureka! I'll bet the new motor creates quite a bit more airflow when compared to the old 4 amp motor.

    Electrolux Model L on Steroids!

I've had this rebuilt Model L for a few years. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to open it up and clean it out. The motor (circa Model G) was in great shape so I decided to save it for another application. I had one of the new replacement motors being sold for the newer metal tanks, so I...

    Electrolux 2100 Question

Tonight, I had nothing to do, so I took apart my Electrolux 2100! I was really curious to see what kind of motor is installed in it. My question was answered...a one stage design. However, I was surprised to see the Swedish Electrolux logo on the motor. Did American Electrolux outsource this...

    Electrolux 1453 wiring

Got it! I finally got it figured out and she runs like a top!

    Electrolux 1453 wiring

I guess I'm on a Electrolux kick right now! I've had a 1453 for a while that has terrible suction. I found the source of that problem. The gasket between the motor and bag chamber was missing. However, I took it apart without accurately marking the location of all the wires (and I thought I...

Tryin my best to fix my dial a matic 1149 on my own.

Big Headache! I had a DAM a few years ago and took it apart to thoroughly clean it and get rid of the rotting foam inside. I just about lost my religion! That thing is a beast to work on.

    NOS Electrolux motor?

Fit Perfectly! The motor fit perfectly. It has nice, characteristic Electrolux whir too with plenty of suction and airflow. I guess it's a newer motor circa the Marquis era?

    NOS Electrolux motor?

Flange on This is how it looks with the mounting flange and gasket. The fans are the same diameter as the old motor. However, the motor itself is much shorter. I'm about to install it, so we'll see how it goes!
