    My Eureka 3210 B

Vintage? Does anyone know the vintage of this model? Can it be determined from the serial number?

    My valentine present!

One of the great things about Kirby is the versatility of the machine. Few vacuums rival the number of things a Kirby can do! What a nice gift!

    My Eureka 3210 B

I suppose this was Eureka's bottom of the line canister when it was manufactured. I don't know the vintage of this model, but I'm guessing she came out in the late 70s or early 80s.

    My Eureka 3210 B

The gaskets on the bag dock are missing so I ordered some new gasket material to make new gaskets. When that comes in, she'll be ready to roll!

    My Eureka 3210 B

When she came in the mail, I primed and painted the bag floor, installed a new motor bearing, as well as a new cord. Now she runs like new! I also swapped the old basket filter with the thin membrane filter material for a HEPA filter.

    My Eureka 3210 B

A couple of weeks ago, I was perusing Ebay when I came across this little lady. The bag chamber was rusted and the cord had been cut off, so I knew her bearings were bad. I watched the listing for more than a week and debated whether to make an offer. Well, I knew that if I didn't make an...

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

Other than the cracked cover, there is a small dent on the bottom. That's not really noticeable.

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

I was surprised to see that Electrolux went with a larger 5.7" diameter motor. To accommodate the larger size, they had to redesign the mounting lug inside the bulkhead.

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

The plastic cover is cracked in the corner so I'll see if a touch of epoxy might fix that.

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

I've seen some where the chrome trim has a crinkled finish. This is just like my old one, with a smooth finish.

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

About a year after completing graduate school in 1991, I bought my first brand new vacuum -- an Electrolux Ultralux LX. I gave it away many years ago and sometimes kick myself for doing it. Well, I just happened on this one on Ebay. It was hard to tell what shape it was in because the photos...

    The season of Olympia...

Very Nice! That's a great find! I really like the era of the square tank models. I have the older version of the Olympia that is really a Super J in brown. Yours is the Silverado style Olympia.
