    Hoover Constellation 86

So all in all, I think the Hoover Constellation is an excellent machine!

    Hoover Constellation 86

The only modification I made was to replace the rotted bag seal gasket with this. It came from an Electrolux aftermarket motor. I think it does a much better job of providing a seal to the bag.

    Hoover Constellation 86

I can't imagine that these machines ever saw too many service calls unless the owner abused the vacuum.

    Hoover Constellation 86

I love its simple, straightforward design. It is so much better than today's over-engineered vacuums.

    Hoover Constellation 86

After electrolux137 recently posted about his Constellation collection, it inspired me to dig into mine to see what makes it tick. I've had this Model 86 for several years and turn it on occasionally but that's about it. So this afternoon, I took it apart and gave it a once over. For a 60...

    Our Hoover Constellation vacuum cleaners

I think the Constellation came out sometime in the early to mid 50s. I have a Model 86, which I think was introduced in 1958.

    Ward's Canister from Canada?

@eurekaprince Thanks for the information! When I took the rug tool apart, I discovered it also has "Made in Canada" embossed inside. The bags are Montgomery Ward brand bags made in Canada!

    Calling All Eureka Model-M Owners

Nice! If you ever take it apart, I would love to see photos of the motor and it's set up.

    Ward's Canister from Canada?

This model has some thoughtful touches that I haven't seen in my other Eureka canisters. One is the latch design with this tension spring. It allows the cover to be secure when closed.

    Ward's Canister from Canada?

Is the hole in the tool-pac supposed to be there or was the plastic mounting lug missing?

    Ward's Canister from Canada?

I recently acquired this Montgomery Ward canister from Ebay. I cleaned it up, serviced the motor, replaced the switch, and installed a new cord. The cord is actually an old Rainbow cord that I had lying around. While cleaning her up, I noticed that the original attachments say "Made in...

    My Electrolux 1205 Rebuilt 💕💕💕

Very nice! I've also wondered about Electrolux rebuilds. Was the program similar to Kirby's? Or did Electrolux simply rebuild their own machines (maybe trade ins?) and then resell them? I have a rebuilt early Model L in hammertone brown (coppertone). It looks nice. I just wish they would...

    An Excellent Thrift Shop Find!

Wow! What a treasure! I had no idea any vacuum had ever been made of cardboard.

    Painting Vacuums.

I painted this Eureka 2010 a few years ago and it is a pretty close color match to the original.

Kirby Trim Removal & Instillation Help ?

The trim can be stretched onto the existing rivets. Heat the trim up under some hot water to make it pliable. Take a very small flat head screwdriver and insert it through the hole on the trim. Next, brace the end of the screwdriver between the rivet and the headlight and slide the trim down...

    My Eureka 3210 B

@ Keither Wow! How do you come across brand new vacs? That's amazing!

    My Eureka 3210 B

@ huskyvacs I actually subscribe to that website. I do genealogy research and it can be very helpful at times. In this case, it proved helpful in doing model research for a vacuum! Thanks again!

    My Eureka 3210 B

Huskyvacs! Thanks for finding that ad! That's exactly it. Model 3210. Now, I know the color name...Butter Cream! The vacuum came with the original hose but no tools. Now, I have some idea of what the rug tool looked like too. Thanks again!
