So all in all, I think the Hoover Constellation is an excellent machine!

The only modification I made was to replace the rotted bag seal gasket with this. It came from an Electrolux aftermarket motor. I think it does a much better job of providing a seal to the bag.

I can't imagine that these machines ever saw too many service calls unless the owner abused the vacuum.

I love its simple, straightforward design. It is so much better than today's over-engineered vacuums.

I think the Constellation came out sometime in the early to mid 50s. I have a Model 86, which I think was introduced in 1958.

@eurekaprince Thanks for the information! When I took the rug tool apart, I discovered it also has "Made in Canada" embossed inside. The bags are Montgomery Ward brand bags made in Canada!

Nice! If you ever take it apart, I would love to see photos of the motor and it's set up.

This model has some thoughtful touches that I haven't seen in my other Eureka canisters. One is the latch design with this tension spring. It allows the cover to be secure when closed.

I painted this Eureka 2010 a few years ago and it is a pretty close color match to the original.

The trim can be stretched onto the existing rivets. Heat the trim up under some hot water to make it pliable. Take a very small flat head screwdriver and insert it through the hole on the trim. Next, brace the end of the screwdriver between the rivet and the headlight and slide the trim down...

Huskyvacs! Thanks for finding that ad! That's exactly it. Model 3210. Now, I know the color name...Butter Cream! The vacuum came with the original hose but no tools. Now, I have some idea of what the rug tool looked like too. Thanks again!
