    Longer Hose....

My mother has a Miele C1 Electro Plus and inquired about a longer hose for it. I know there is a 4 foot extension hose on their site for it, but I don't think it supports the electric... but I'm not sure since details are lacking. Is there one on the aftermarket or something that has a bit...

    New royal brushroll coming tomorrow!!

Many times, I have the temptation to load up on spare parts for my favorite tools... Such as extra air filters for the lawn and garden equipment. What I discovered in some cases was that the replacement parts I bought sat dormant for years, sometimes with the machine itself wearing out before...

I have Rainbow Rep coming to my house

I've had a few of them second hand, and like them very much. They were my favorite up until becoming a Central Vac owner. The retail price always kept me away, but scooping up a refurbished one, or something from an estate can be a great find. One of the biggest things that I didn't like...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

The one thing I love/hate about the central vacuum business, is that the SAME tool sells under 9 names with different price tags. I've configured my system to use the standard 1.25" tools, and that's been OK for me...having the widest selection that way. The "generic" nature of CV stuff keeps...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

I have a floor brush that sometimes sells as Electrolux, or as generic... Which model are you all referencing? The picture is the style I have /w/ wheels.

    Who has a daily driver?

My Central Vac is my daily driver... It gets used every day. The main power unit is an Imperium CV300, and the most common carpet power head is the Lindhaus PB14e I've got one set of tools for the home floors, one set for the basement, and one for the workshop. There's always something...

Sometimes it's REALLY DIRTY in there!

I got a Rainbow SE that had a power nozzle with even more crud caked on it. THAT happens when people are vacuuming wet/damp messes with it. It could have been used to vac up after shampooing carpets (by someone very impatient)

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

Cool. Do you have a favorite hard floor brush? I'm got several types, and I'm nut sure which one I like best. One is a Nutone Floor tool with wheels on the back, and brush on/off. One is horsehair and the brush has no wheels. Recently I got one of the horsehair ones with wheels...

    Vacuum bag odour question

Sucking a bit of active charcoal or baking soda into the bag is the ticket. Even though my central vac exhausts outside, I can still tell a used bag from a fresh one, despite the system being sealed.

    What's going on with Electrolux?

Central Models/Accessories I think Electrolux's Central vac and parts are still being made.

    Kirby broken front wheel axle!

I actually got to go to the Cleveland area factory that chrome plated Kirby parts. Chrome plating is nasty business.

Best way to clean Dyson DC07 hose?

Good General Cleaners I'd just use a concentrated all purpose cleaner... soak it and then run a brush through it. Hose cleaning brushes to exist. Simple Green is OK, LA's Awesome, or Fabuloso are good dirt cutting low price cleaners... Based on what's here now, Fabuloso would be...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

It appears that that Cirrus has the same PN33 Wand system... so that would make the hose a standard flush-mount CV style handle.

    Round Brushrolls vs. Helix Brushrolls

Thanks for your input. I assumed there wasn't as single design that was "best for all"... Recalling from demo's how Kirby wants the nozzle to "seal" to the carpet, I would think that a very fluffy carpet might take a whipping from that. Your description explains easily why most designs...

    Round Brushrolls vs. Helix Brushrolls

I've always wondered what others think about this... It's obvious that the industry truly believes that the "chevron" shape is the best for the brush arrangement, however the brush rolls themselves still come in two varieties. Most common is the round/cylindrical shape roller, and some...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

My reason to "Flaw" the Flat belt on PN33, is that it creates a blind spot on the cleaning path. PN33 does have a great feature set and is easy to use... I can see why it's showed up with so many vacuums. The PN33 price/function ratio is great... making it both good, and affordable.

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

ThinkVacuum's "Champion" is the PN33 indeed. They are one of the highest priced vendors of it too. Normally PN33+Wand sells for about $150 I know everyone seems to hate flat belts... but if it's any consolation, I've not had any issues with it slipping and getting a flat spot. That power...

    Rotho TT

Funny, how the older Rainbow nozzles didn't have those massive blind spots. I had some nice Rainbows once upon a time... but the Central Vac caused me to sell all of it off.

What's "The Vacuum" of the 2010s?

In terms of reliability........ Simple designs usually last longer, because there is less to go wrong that will cripple the whole system. 1 stage furnaces have a simpler motor (on/off) and that eliminates all the circuits to slow the motor to half speed... less to fail. The public has...

What's "The Vacuum" of the 2010s?

I had singer furnaces too! I had Singer furnaces here too... 70's era. When the larger one failed, The Furnace techs across the street told me I'd have to find "generic" parts to fix it. They were right, as online I found parts to fix it and convert it from Standing pilot to spark-light...
