Believe it or not, This marks the SECOND time I have found both a 65 and 31 in the same place. Here are the first two I had.... sad isn't it?

They called the Hoover Z "convertible" in the way that it converts into a compact machine. It has a cord winder I believe.

If it is a Reliable, Its a different model. This one appears earlier than Charles's Reliable. The nozzles are different, as is the motor housing shape and handle bails. But the designs are pretty close. If they are not the same, their designs were probably from a single source.

I saw the duopower. I have had a more high end model in the past. Wasn't overly impressed with it. They are unique in their own way.

The one on the left of course is not a box top but is a rare cordaway. The one on the right I passed up because the bag was pretty well shot. But unique machine nonetheless.

Back. The bag is remarkably nice. The cardboard top is starting to curl in near the handle, but not too bad. I have see several other boxtop cordaway eurekas in the same thrift store, but none from the gold flowerprint bag era until today.

The bearings are squeaky. But we will get that sorted out. Light bulb still works! Mostly dirt and paint marks. Not too many scratches.

Thats a rare kirby you have there! It is a model R, which stands for Retail. Those were sold in select stores. The C series was the door to door sales model sold along side this.

Holy moly! THATS about as nice as a machine from that age can be! Major congrats. I wouldn't even attempt at doing a full restoration. It has just enough patina and shine to make it perfect! THAT BAG!
