The vacuette is in my opinion, one of the collest non-electric cleaners! When wound up, they kept running for a decent amount of time, so you aren't running around with it like a bellows cleaner. Think of it like a windup car. The one pictured below is my friends machine.

With the 65. When serviced these are going to be two fabulous machines!

The base. It appears that the paint was sprayed on thin in places. I can see some metal in the deeper parts of the base.

The awesome bag. I like the wide look of the 65. These seem so slim compared to it.

Rear. I really wonder why they put the bottom snap in because its almost impossible to stretch the bag that far.

Another of the base. You can see the scuffs here. The bumper is relatively nice for the scuffs on the side.

Yes. You can still find the plain white hood for sale from time to time. The pink would be hard to match though.

Not really. The risk of damaging the hood by trying to heat and shape it is too high.

Kirbykid, Its not dented. The early hoovers were highly prone to hood warping because of the very soft plastic that Hoover used to make them. The heat from the motor warped them over time. Thats why you often see cracked, or wavy hoods on models such as the 63, 65, 67, 68 etc. It wasn't until...

I still need to shape the headlight trim a little better. Its not really in place at the moment, since I still have the motor disconnected, and needing to take out again for servicing.

Well I did some cleaning of the 65 today. Stripped it completely down and sent it through a bath of soapy water. Tooth brush and elbow grease, here is what came out. Still some paint scuffs here and there that a nifty magic eraser will clean up. Anybody know how to get a yellow stain off the...
