    The last vacuum collectors convention

convention was great The convention this year was awesome, it was great seeing everyone again and the cleaning contest was lots of fun, we had three winners this year, and, at least for me, the cleaners that won were not what I expected. Mike

    The last vacuum collectors convention

really excited Really excited about the convention, I'll be arriving later today, really sorry to hear that this will probably be the last one, I've been coming to them since 2016 and they have all been great. Mike

What's the American equivalent to Henry, popularity wise?

Henry Henry and his friends are available here but I'm not sure how popular they are. One thing that is missing is the ability to support an electric power nozzle, although with battery nozzles available now, Henry could clean carpets quite well. Mike

Amazon Buys IRobot - Maker of Roomba Vacuums

something else to think about If Amazon purchases Irobot, will they still allow other robot vacuum brands to sell on their site? Most of the robot vacuum brands that I have sell through Amazon, I can't help but wonder if Amazon will do things to make it more difficult for competitors such as...

Amazon Buys IRobot - Maker of Roomba Vacuums

very interesting As someone who now has 11 robot vacuums, I definitely have some thoughts on this. As far as companies spying on you, this is probably similar to a smart phone, for certain conveniences, you give up some privacy, and of course that is each person's choice. It will be interesting...

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

using the Drainvac for the contest Well, if a central vacuum is legal for the contest than I just might bring that Drainvac again. The question is, which power nozzle to use? I'm thinking either the Sebo ET2 or the Wessel-Werk EBK360, the suction on that Drainvac will beat any portable...

    It’s vac in a year…Another canister

good but overpriced The patriot is a good vacuum, but, as with all vacuums sold door to door, it's overpriced. Sounds like you got a good deal on this one though. The Sebo power nozzle is one of the best, if not the best available. Mike

The horrible truth about central vacuum systems and why every non-Canadian millennial hates them.

I love central vacuums I have central vacuum units all around my apartment, I use them all without pipes, I connect the hose directly to them, I have two crush proof hoses, a 35 foot and a 50 foot, I store them behind my couch and my love seat. I would never use any unit bagless, emptying those...

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

I love central vacuums I have several central vacuum units, several canister cleaners and several backpack vacuums. I like them all of course but I find that in most cases, I'm reaching for the central vacuum hose. I use all of my central vacuum units without pipes, attach a utility valve to...

    4th of July Vacuum Mini-Meet

convention Wish I could have come to that barbecue, if I could drive I would have been there but looking forward to the convention. Not sure which canister I'm going to bring yet, I might also bring one central vacuum unit which of course will be the Drainvac Twin Turbo, now that machine is a...

Kirby Is Now Selling Direct Online

this was bound to happen This isn't surprising, selling vacuums door to door is a dying breed, let's see if Rainbow is next. I'm not sure how many of these will be sold though, with those prices, let's see if selling on line increases their sales at all. Mike

    The new Air-Way Ultra Kleen

suction motor What kind of motor is in the new Air-way? Is it a two stage motor or one of those one stage screamers? Also, what's the electric plug like on the hose? Is it standard? Converting 35 MM to 32 MM is easy, adapters are available to handle that and I have several of them. Mike

Do central vacuums work well if properly installed?

another great brand and 240 volt converter Another great central vacuum brand is Drainvac, I have several of their units and they are very quiet and powerful. Blackheart, sorry, I never got your email, I do actually have a 240 volt outlet now as well but I also have this converter and it will...

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

yes, absolutely If the right size unit is used and the pipes are installed correctly, it should clean carpets as good or even better than a portable vacuum. It's always best to get a power unit that is rated for a larger house than what you have, more power cannot hurt, it can only help you...

Do central vacuums work well if properly installed?

central vacuums and clogs Normally central vacuums should not clog, if it does, either the piping was not installed properly or something is being vacuumed up and shouldn't be. Mike

    DrainVac Little Giant Central Vacuum

Drainvac units I have several Drainvac units, the powerhouse, the Viper, the Turbo, the Twin Turbo and the Atomik which is a small portable unit. I think the Viper is the most powerful single motor unit that is available and the Twin Turbo's power is amazing, it's a 240 volt beast. I think they...

    my robot vacuum collection

While I still don't think robot vacuums have gotten to the point where they can take the place of corded vacuums, they have come a long way in the last 20 years, originally they would just bounce around the room randomly and were about as powerful as a dust buster. The robots available now are...

    Robot Vacuum for multiple floors

I would suggest I would suggest you check out the bots made by Roborock. They are excellent, and many of them support mapping for more than one floor. In my opinion Roborock is the best robot brand available right now. Mike

    Canavac XLS semi-acquired

Canavac They are a good brand I think. I have a unit that uses this motor, the Vacumaid SR800, I don't use a muffler and it's not too bad but I think there might be some sound blocking material inside. I use all of my central vacuum units free standing in my apartment, they are great. Mike

Looking for best affordable hard floor attachment ?

Wessel-Werk RD285 Absolutely. Get the Wessel-Werk RD285, rather than brushes, it has squeegees. It has large wheels in the back and will roll across hard floors very nicely. In my view it is one of the best hard floor tools available. Mike
