End of an Era for Cana-Vac

dual motor units I have a total of seven dual motor units, two of them use a standard 120 volt plug and the other five use 240 volt. For the way I use my central vacuums, I like the series configuration better. Since I connect the hose directly without pipes, I'm not sure if higher airflow...

End of an Era for Cana-Vac

Canavac 6.6 motors Canavac did make at least one model that used the 6.6 diameter bypass motor, I have it, I think the model was CLS750, it was a smaller version of the LS750 since it was not hybrid, it's bag only which I'm fine with since I don't want to use anything bagless. I also have the...

Major Shift in the Central Vacuum Industry

forgot one I forgot another brand that is from Canada, Canavac. I do have one of their models as well, I think it's the CLS750, it's a bag only unit. Mike

Major Shift in the Central Vacuum Industry

comments on news I've been kind of busy so haven't been here for a few weeks but this was pretty big news. I have a couple of central vacuums in my collection related to this company. I don't have any of them installed, I use all of them without pipes. I have a Duovac Distinction which was...

    Shark advice please?

sharks, and bagless vacuums in general What has been described in this thread are the reasons to avoid Sharks, and bagless vacuums in general. Bagless vacuums require much more work to maintain them, and that is rarely done by most consumers. And here is a video that describes very well the...

    Mosquito vs ProTeam

mosquito I have several backpacks in my collection, admitedly I haven't used them in a while since it takes time to pull out an extension cord and strap it on to your back. I do have the Proteam super coach, a Sandia Raven and the Mosquito construction backpack. From what I've heard, Mosquito...

    Recommendations please?

my suggestion I would suggest the Sebo Felix. It's an excellent upright but you can remove the power nozzle and attach a hard floor brush for cleaning hard floors. It has the flexibility of a canister in an upright form factor. I think the Lindhaus health care pro also has that design. Mike

    DrainVac takes over NuTone

interesting That's really interesting, they are kind of opposite. Drainvac is a really high quality central vacuum, I have several of their units, on the other hand, Nutone always seems to have been a budget central vacuum on the lower end. Mike

    repairing Shark vacuums

I know Shark vacuums are very difficult to repair but I didn't know what they did to make their vacuums so difficult to repair other than not providing parts. I came across this video that really describes it well. I know some on here use Shark cleaners and like them and that's fine. For those...

Sebo D1 Canister Vacuum - Pros and Cons?

sebo D1, a great choice I have a Sebo D1, if she is ok with not having an electric power nozzle, it's a great choice. I do agree that it's not necessary to have an upright and a canister. A canister or central vacuum with an electric power nozzle will clean carpets as good as an upright, and in...

Got a Sebo Felix 2 today - Thanks!!!

great choice I'm also in St. Louis, wondering where you got the Felix from. I think this is the best upright vacuum you can get, nothing better. Mike

New Dyson Robotvac, Hepa Stick Vac and Floor Washer

the robot So far Dyson has not sold any of their robot vacuums in the United States so I wonder if this one will launch here, regardless, based on what the video mentioned, it's lacking a few things. It uses a camera for navigation, Lidar is much better than a camera for several reasons, it...

I'm surprised California hasn't outlawed central vacuum systems yet

my thoughts Here is my take on all of this, anyone who wants to disagree with me is free to do so, that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinions and views. I think the whole climate change thing is a hoax, there are just as many scientists who are not convinced that the whole climate...

where is Dunmore? Where is the possible mini meet going to be held? I can't drive because of a visual impairment but sounds like fun, perhaps I can get there another way such as the train. Mike

Does anyone remember the aqua jumbo Wet dry vacuum attachment?

something similar is still available Sounds like you are looking for something like this, I don't actually have it but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Mike https://vacumaid.com/product/stainless-wet-pick-up-kit/

    Euro vs American Sebos

Sebo in the United States I'm not sure why Sebo cleaners are much more expensive here, could it be import costs since they are shipped from Germany? I wonder if the price for other European brands such as Miele and Numatic are also much higher here? I paid $330 for my Miele C1 Olympus which is...

    Why Tacony SUCKS nowadays.

tacony and Sebo I have a couple of Tacony canisters and I like them, the Riccar Prima is a great canister, small and really quiet, I also have a Simplicity Gusto. I think Sebo is one of the best brands you can get, Lindhaus is also good but they are harder to purchase since not as many places...

    central vacuum stores

Drainvac quality Interesting that you don't think the Drainvac Little Giant is good quality, I have several Drainvac units, the Powerhouse, the Viper, the Turbo, the Twin Turbo which is the one I brought to the vacuum convention, and the little Atomik. Excellent quality on all of them. Mike

    central vacuum stores

that's really sad That is a shame, they were a great company to buy from, I wonder if the stores in Florida still exist or if they are gone too? I've also bought from Think Vacuums and think they are good to do business with. Central vacuum stores was also a Miele dealer, I think Think Vacuums...
