    The new Air-Way Ultra Kleen

The canister looks very much like the Electrolux cleaners made by Eureka. Is this what happened to the tooling when Eurekalux shuttered its doors?

    Hoover elite impeller fan

That was the Achilles heel of the Hoover Elites. I wonder if someone out there has the talent to fabricate an impeller with 3D printing.

    Oreck XL-21 vs Gold Forever

I am compelled to ask - WHY? Even if you do find a 10 year old Oreck you will have trouble getting parts as time goes along. Oh sure, belts and bags will be readily available for some time to come but certain parts for the XL-21 have already been discontinued. The idea was a good one -...

    Oreck XL-21 vs Gold Forever

Honestly, I really couldn't say Oreck is a brand to be sought anymore. 20 years ago, they made a good vacuum, but since old man David walked away and TTI took control this is no longer the case. A much better choice in an 8 pound upright would be the Riccar Supralite. It's the same 8 pounds...

    Oreck Catalogs

The 2610 was sold at an Oreck store, whereas the 2600 was sold via mail-order. Thus followed the 3610, then the 3710. Hope this helps....

Miele s314 Red Star motor upgrade trouble

Agreed If it's gonna be a daily driver I hardly think it's worth the effort. Most of the parts for the Red Star (i.e. electric hose, cable reel) are NLA from Miele and there are no aftermarket replacements. And truth be told, the powernozzle it came with was AWFUL with that wire clipped to...

    JC Penney Dial a Matic?

Could we maybe see some photos? I'm always on the lookout for any rare Dial-A-Matic variations.

    Then and now

If I could buy a BRAND NEW Air Way Sanitary System manufactured EXACTLY as it was in 1920, I would buy it for $851.15. It'll certainly outlast a new Rainbow with it's circuit boards and whopping $2000.00 price tag. It's a shame Air-Way didn't continue with uprights after World War II. Their...

    HOOVER DIAL--MATIC COLORS

The U5015 was either the last (or one of the very last) non-power drive models offered. It was shown in the 1978 lineup page. I have heard tell of them being sold new as late as 1980. I personally would take a U5015 Dial-A-Matic over the Concept One that immediately followed in a second...

    The Last Magic

Alas, I'm sure many were lost during the metal scrap drives of World War II.

    green bison search

Here's one I just found on eBay. Kinda high I must say, but maybe that's what Bisons are going for now... https://www.ebay.com/itm/284529284564?hash=item423f4455d4:g:6NEAAOSwO15hkbWP

    Rare Clements Twin Vac

Because the seller is asking WAAAY too much money. In its day this was a value-priced machine. I too have a Twin Vac, but mine has a bag clamp. First time I've seen the "jar lid" bag top on a Clements machine that wasn't Packard branded.

Regina Model 50 - Restoration in progress

I do know that Oreck took over the old Regina plant in Biloxi, Mississippi, and I was privileged enough to tour the factory almost 20 years ago, but what caused the ultimate downfall of Regina? Was it their Housekeeper (which was an abomination)? I did like their bagged Electrikbroom (which...

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

Maybe Avalir was the name choice in that it was self-destructive. Like they are destroying their own company by rolling out the same old SH*T for the past 30 some odd years....

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

With this RightLane Industries now at the helm of Kirby, I would say there's a better than not chance that there WON'T be an all new model. Now the purists on here will tar and feather me saying "if it's a proven design why change it." Well, maybe. But it's the SAME PLATFORM from 32 years...

Kinds of motors used in Sunbeam vacuums

I remember finding one or two Sunbeam Dual Deluxe's in the trash back in the '80's. I remember putting them right back out at the curb because the bearings were shot. Sadly, I've never seen a smooth running one. I can tell you Sunbeam made one hell of an electric shaver back in the '60's and...

    Electrolux hand vac

A powerful hand vac, yes, but not my favourite by a longshot. The sideways mounted dust bag is awkward at best. Constantly keeps getting in the way while I'm trying to vacuum. For $6.50 you really can't go wrong, but I would choose a Dirt Devil handvac in heartbeat over this.

Regina Model 50 - Restoration in progress

I've never seen a Regina upright in person, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Regina one of the last companies to offer a straight suction upright into at least the late '40's/maybe early '50's? I imagine they have to have decent suction especially with the nozzle being so thin.

    Kingston 6640

Sad how all that's left is the manufacturing plate.... I have that same Kingston I inherited from my aunt when she passed. She bought it right before moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1956. I acquired it in 1989. At some point the hose was changed from braided to vinyl, and I remember having...

    Prolite value?

I have the Kenmore version which was called the E4. Same machine, but it has a twister cup "bag saver" on the back pipe. Don't remember seeing them at Sears very long....
