    Central Vacuum - Pistol Grip

The only one I know of is the old style Electrolux hose. I don't recommend a wire reinforced hose though, they are much heavier, less internally aerodynamic, the internal hose diameter is only 1 1/4inch, whereas the newer hoses, although all with gas pump handles, are 1 3/8. The difference is...

    Hoover fans, need your thoughts...

Its more of a knockoff of the Miele combines with the previous line of Tacony canisters. Not bad machines, but not anything like a Tri-Star.

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

I guess to me, what it all comes down to is how much picking around do I feel like doing. I'm not one of those who dislikes bagless machines because they are modern or plastic. There was a point in my life when I actually thought the idea of a bagless machine was superior to a bag! I know, I...

    Central vac vs Portable vac.

The loss of suction in the pipe system should be absolutely none, airflow loss is very minimal, as the pipe is smooth inside, and if the proper fittings are used, the bends are too. But to me the elaborate plumbing system is part of the draw of a central vac me anyway... But I've put both the...

    Central vac vs Portable vac.

My current unit is a Riccar RPU-C10. I have a thing for machines with two motors in parallel, I think this offers the best end of hose performance. Although honestly, I've seen and used lots of units that didn't have any more power than a very powerful portable machine, such as a Tri-Star or my...

    It happened ...

Well, with Bissell being so committed in their current commercial endeavors, I can't see them doing anything worse than Eureka may have done... Either it will remain about the same, or maybe improve. Personally I don't see any deaths imminent here.

What year was this eureka made?

I really need to get my hands on one of these Eurekas with the rubber cap in the hood. I almost had one, but it was in rough shape, and someone with a severe sense of entitlement greedily grabbed it from me. Looking back I should have put my foot down, but at the time I simply didn't feel like...

    Vintage vacuums

OOOHHHHH A Pullman (White) Holt I have a newer version of that machine. When I think of a "shop vac" this is what I think of, as I use these for that purpose. I think the average Shop Vac and its competitors tend to be too lacking in suction and build quality!

Question after Lots of Particle Tests

Of course bagged vacuums are inherently better at filtration! All of the machines that are truly certified HEPA, other than the Rainbow, use bags. Bags make it simpler to force all of the dirty air through the filter material. They also lend towards a simpler and more direct air path, which...
