    Kirby Heritage II weight?

Yeah, 17 or 18 pounds sounds about right.

    Amodel

Les, It's always a good idea to replace a Lexan fan with a white Amodel fan as soon as possible.   The Lexan fans develop cracks with age even if not used for long periods of time. A small invisible hairline crack can cause the fan to shatter into pieces while the motor is running. This...

Add headlight to Royal all-metal vacuum?

FYI: I own a 10 amp Royal 8300 and there is almost no noticeable vibration when it is running. It is somewhat loud, but it is also very smooth.

Add headlight to Royal all-metal vacuum?

Royal vacuum with headligt EEMac:   There are many used Royal Vacuums with headlights in new or slightly used but in like new condition on ebay. I would keep checking ebay until you find one that fis your needs.   Royals, like Kirby are solidly built and even a used one in good...

    Royal

Royal 10 amp Drop-in motor... I believe the 10 amp Drop-in motor is the most powerful motor Royal makes. I own a Royal Everlast 8300 with the 10 amp Drop-in motor and it is plenty powerful and also plenty loud as well.   My Royal Everlast deep cleans carpet better than my Kirby Sentria. I...

Classic III getting a new kevlar fan

Believe it or not, the new white Amodel fan is stronger and much less prone to breakage than the metal fans are. Any Kirby with an Amodel fan in it is more indestructible than the same machine with a metal fan in it.

Robs Kirby G6 Y2K Edition Expresto!

Kirby transmission adjustment... I have adjusted those two black hex transmission screws many times. The top one adjusts forward motion and the bottom one adjusts reverse motion. They are very sensitive so only adjust 1/4 turn at a time, then test to see if your Kirby feels right for forward...

Vac Shops and Kirby Tools (for Refurbished Machines)...

All of my Kirby's were purchased off ebay or other collectors and they all included the complete set of attachments. The exception to this would be my G3 which I rescued from beside a dumpster and had no attachments, but I am able to share all of the attachments from my Sentria.

Should I sale my Rainbow or keep it?

Vacuumdevil: That's an interesting looking device, but suction and airflow measuring gadgets don't tell you diddly-squat about the actual effectiveness of any given vacuum cleaner!   The real performance test of ANY vacuum cleaner is actual <span style="text-decoration...

Should I sale my Rainbow or keep it?

Get the Kirby Avalir. It will outclean your Rainbow because it has much better airflow and agitation than the Rainbow does.

    My first Royal

You won't be sorry... Chris, You will love that Royal. I have six Kirby's and one 10 amp Royal Everlast 8300. I've had my Royal for 4 years now and find that I use it more often than any of my other machines. It simply can't be beat for deep down carpet cleaning! It is lighter and more...

Inexpensive shop-vac type unit using universal/brushed motor

Many young inexperienced Techs don't know the difference between a brushed Universal motor and a simple brushless Inductance motor or the newer brushless DC motors used in many cordless vacs.   I think it would be very rare to find any kind of brushless motor in an inexpensive shop vac.

This is Why Kirby Says to Empty the Bag Out After Each Use

Kirby plastic fan... If your older pre-G5 Kirby has the Gray plastic Lexan fan, you should replace it ASAP with the newer White Amodel fan! The Gray Lexan fans crack with age and could fly apart causing major damage to your Kirby.
