Blue sparks Is usually a color of electrical issues. I've had 2 ds80s burn up because of faulty coils and it was blue. Idk it could be commutator going bad but my money if it's not comutator or brushes it's faulty coil not producing enough current and u tested the comutator with voltage...

Ummm I'd go with tristar having better parts. I'm not saying luxs are bad. The tristars are like a workhorse. They last forever.
