    Shark Rocket vacuum...

Tonight I took a detour home from work to pick up another vacuum cleaner.  The idea with this one is to clean it up and sell on for a profit, but I actually think I may (slightly) like the thing...    It is filthy, but very quiet and the brushroll sticks to the carpet almost as good as an...

    Electrolux The Boss bagless...

Picked this up tonight for £10. It is the same as my bagged Boss only the handle-release catch is still intact! I haven't tested it yet, but am told it was in perfect working order. As expected it is dirty, and I will strip it down and restore tomorrow, but for tonight thought I'd start a...

    New Henry's - Original, Compact & Professional

I like the new line-up very much!  Especially the "compact" and "professional" models.  I could see the former being especially popular for older people who find the regular Henry too heavy and cumbersome to use.

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

Just to give a quick update, I checked the bag door and it dates from 2005, so quite an early model!  It doesn't look 11 years old.

A few more Electrolux related aquisitions

Great finds! Of course, not as good as Hoovers - but we can't have it all...   I love the Dolphin, Electrolux cylinders have always been excellent in design and performance.

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

It was fully assembled, although I would imagine they were sold in very small boxes when new!

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

Ha! The Electroluxes are getting rather decrepit now though to be fair, bar the 502S which is almost fully retired.

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

"Next thing you know you'll find another dyson!" Don't say that Scott!! The thought of another Dyson in this house makes me anxious.

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

Ah, can't believe I didn't look there! Will do that tonight and see. Yes I do vaguely remember a thread in which Chris talked about his red Sebo and it being a Euronics special. I think this might be the one vacuum I own that gets his seal of approval!!

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

Good Lord! They aren't worth that much here but still a lot more than I paid. Even the bags alone could probably sell for £10.

I do love an easy fix... New (to me) Sebo X1.1

Well, what can I say? The last week really has been a vacuum filled one, and the funny thing is I wasn't even actively looking for any - but rather just happened to see the adverts on Gumtree whilst browsing other things. This is a red Sebo X1.1 which was for sale at £10. Of course at that...

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Thanks for the further information Nar! I am really glad I bought it now (especially for £10!), despite initially thinking "oh, an Oreck..." because I had seen rather poor reviews of them on here and elsewhere. For the time being it is sitting in the living room and I am using it for the daily...

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Yes you are absolutely right Scott! Such a small and simple machine - perfect for the hotel industry they were originally designed for. I love the pocket at the back of the bag for storing extra bags and also the mold underneath for a spare belt. In fact, looking at the information plate...

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Ah, so in that case it could well be that he bought the upright at the same time as the handheld, in 1998? As I say, it is a decent vacuum and a good basic cleaner for carpets but obviously of no use for hard flooring or above floor cleaning.

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

I know John, although it will be kept in a different room from the Hoovers, you have my word! No contamination will take place.

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Well, last week I saw a rather tempting advert online for an Oreck upright at £15. I got the seller down to £10 ($15) and picked it up. Not a bad cleaner, I've used it a few times now on medium and shag pile and it works well on both, although the handle becomes stiff after a while (not sure...

    I own a Kirby!

"<a name="start_30995.342676"></a>This doesn't mean you're "jumping the wall", does it? LOL"   Oh no John, never.  I wouldn't even peek over it...

    I own a Kirby!

Well, I never thought I'd say that! But, it was too good an opportunity to miss. I was browsing Gumtree last Tuesday and came across a Kirby Legend 2 with tools for sale for £40. I contacted the seller and got him down to £35, arranging to collect it the following day, which I did. The...

    Latest rescue - a 652A...

Thanks Emma, that would be fantastic.  I'd pay postage at least.

    Latest rescue - a 652A...

A couple of weeks ago I was browsing eBay and saw a Hoover Senior 652A looking in a very sorry state for £12 ($18US/$25CAD) which apparently had a running motor but needed a complete restoration.  Having always wanted a 652A (granted, in better condition!) I decided to save this poor Senior as...
