I was given a box with lots of Elux mostly small items , except for this hose. I need some help from you guys to tell me which model it fits on. My guess is an upright, maybe 3500 series. Am I right ?

Thanks Bud, Are you saying that the genuine Electrolux bags are not resistant enough to be used in this vacuum? I suppose Hepa bags for Electrolux would resist and wouldn't tear or rip, what do you think ?

Thank you Mike to share these informations. Back from the garage sale, when I plugged it in the wall and put it on, the first thing I noticed with this machine is how powerfull it is. The body itself looks and sounds pretty solid when I put it up on its rear end, for example.

I looks a lot like a Silverado Delux, for the color scheme I mean.

These valves are very poorly designed, it is obvious the thin plastic lip will break sooner or later, rather sooner considering the plastic they used is a bit britlle and this lip is way too thin. It looks like the valve of the AP series are made of better plastic in the 70's. Thanks to all...

I put this picture just to show you another way these valves can break... I just pulled it out of a Diplomat with a bad motor and a broken rocker switch, thinking I could use it on another machine but I won't .

Here are a few pictures of the machine itself (very clean machine, by the way), and of the plastic retaining lip broken in four pieces laying in the valve body. Last picture shows where the pieces were before they broke apart.

Kenny: what you call an o-ring in this post is the same part you called a seal in your previous thread, right? There isn't a seal in addition to two o-rings, right?

Thank you guys, it'll surely help. I'll let you know what's going on as soon as I have the machine in hands. Madman: I told my friend there could be a blockage in his hose, but he answered that he ran something all the way up and down the hose and it's all ok.

I'm not sure I understand exactly: to pull out the valve, all I need is a pair of pliers to pull the dial knob out? Will the valve come out with the knob? Also, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by the bottom seal, it doesn't shows up accurately on your pictures. Can you point at it? I ask...

Edit: I talked to my friend on the phone a few minutes ago and he told me no matter what is the position of the dial, the vacuum stops working as soon as he connects the flexible hose on the machine and the bag light comes on.

They also sell parts to convert the 3-pin PN plug to a 2-pin on the vac itself, so I'd be able to use the PN I have.
