    Elux Bags....

Garry, I'm not sure if it still exists, why not give it a try? The toll free phone number on the form is 1-800-668-0763 (or -0765, the number on the front page and the back page aren't the same) for Canada and 1-800-243-9078 for USA. I found this form in a original box of Electrolux bags, I...

Link to a vintage small appliance repair forum

Hey all ! A friend a mine asked me if I'd be interested to repair old gravity toasters. I'd like to sign in and become a member of a specific forum, gather information and chat a bit before I try to repair the first one. Do you have a link to a good forum like this?

AP-100 to be rescued or not

Last update: after a good cleaning of the motor with compressed air, I tested the motor with its new bearing and it works like a charm, strong and quiet ! I also had to change the very top section of the vac because the handle was broken. After that I thought everything was fine and dandy...

AP-100 to be rescued or not

I decided to replace the top fan, because I realized one of the fins was damaged. I have a used in good condition from a dead motor.

AP-100 to be rescued or not

Motor is more dirty that it looked at first sight. I gave it a good toothbrushing but it seems it's not enough to clean the windings? Would you suggest I clean them with compressed air only?

AP-100 to be rescued or not

A complete disassembly is pretty much what I have in mind. I installed a new motor bearing earlier today.

AP-100 to be rescued or not

Well, that bearing was quite a surprise ! Not because it was shot , but because it is the first time I see one with races in a AP-100 Elux cleaner.

AP-100 to be rescued or not

I actually didn't hear it running, I assume all the woman said is true... I went far enough is the disassemblying process to realize that the bearing needs to be replaced, it is pretty loose, I wouldn't be surprised if gyproc dust made its way in the bearing too.

AP-100 to be rescued or not

The bag compartment was cleaned by her. The motor parts are covered with a thin layer of light gray dust, which I assume is graphite dust from the brushes mixed with gyproc dust. I don't think the bag bursted, it is dirty in there, but not much more than usual.

AP-100 to be rescued or not

Hey all ! I just got an ELux AP-100 almost for a free, the machine stopped after it sucked gyproc dust. The previous owner told me she opened the machine to clean it (I can't tell what she exactly did) and she told me it worked again but it was very noisy. WHen I got the machine, the side...

Electrolux model XXX with a power nozzle port?

that would be quite interesting if someone could power a regular PN with an brush cutter battery and a current converter and then share the mods with us...

Electrolux model XXX with a power nozzle port?

Holy smoke! Way overpriced! 100-125$ would have been more reasonable.

Electrolux model XXX with a power nozzle port?

Depending on how much this Perfect PN costs, I'd like to give it a try.

    Rainbow D2 basic questions

Yes, the machine looks great specially because the chrome is in very good shape. THe motor doesn't sound that bad either, the bearings grind a bit, but I've heard some ELuxs that sounded a lot worse...

    Rainbow D2 basic questions

Thank you guys! I've looked on youtube and haven't found any video about D2 repair yet. There is a Rainbow website I could buy replacement parts from, and I can chat with representatives there too. THey may explain how to change the bearings or send me written instructions with pictures, I...
