    Air-Way question

I reached that point, I'm reluctant to pull at something I could break...what should I do to go safely deeper ? I'd like to clean the fields.

    Air-Way question

I finally pried it out with a flat scewdriver through the base holes. It's really greasy in there. I consider cleaning it with a tooth brush and varsol first , then contact cleaner, or simply acetone right away. Other suggestions? I remember the motor did lots of arcing the only time I had it...

    Air-Way question

Thanks everyone ! Yes, nuts are already off. I'll try cleaning a bit with compressed air through every hole before I do anything else, in order to see what I shouldn't poke at.

    Air-Way question

Is this the reason why there are four holes on top of the motor case? SHould the sunken nuts come off through these top holes ?

    Air-Way question

Can you please explain how I could gain access to the motor?

    Air-Way question

Nice to see some guys with knowledge of these models. I started tearing mine apart to clean it inside, but I got stuck in the process because I can get access to the motor. Do you agree I send some pictures and questions privately, or do you prefer I post them here?

    Recently acquired Fairfax

Thanks for the pictures. The connectors are made are rather similar to my old Rainbow than Electrolux.

    Recently acquired Fairfax

Nice model ! Does anyone know if I could match an Electrolux PN with this kind of machine without modification? There is a similar Fairfax for sale around here, the machine itself is in good condition, but the PN seems in poor shape and doesn't look good.

    Electrolux Marquee

Bill, let me know if you don't find anything that suits your need on ebay, i have a few handles of the right model in my basement. It is not a big item, shipping cost from Canada to your place shouldn't be outrageous.

    Very Rare Rainbow

Haha ! I have roughly 35 vacuum cleaners at home, all of them are Electrolux's, excet for one Arrow and my R2D2.

    Very Rare Rainbow

dysonman, Thanks for the information ! Do you actually use yours to clean your home, or do you keep it as a collector's item ?

    Very Rare Rainbow

Except for the looks, how is it different from the D2 ?
  13. Q

    Very Rare Rainbow

This is a nice set ! I personnally own a D2 (I often call it R2D2) that I didn't buy on purpose. I'm a fan of old Electrolux's, and the day I bought the D2 , it was because someone had lots of vacuum cleaner stuff for sale, including several ELux's ( 7 or 8 of them, with many brushes, etc)...

saved this from the dump today

I've fixed Electrolux's for 5 years ( this is my new hobby) but I know nothing about Hoovers neither any upright model, but I can tell you that you did a fantastic job on this one! Bravo!

Vintage Electrolux Repair Help in MA

kennyv: You will have to separate the machine in two halves (top and bottom) to access the cord reel, it could be performed with the machine upside down, bag door opened, then you slip both bumper slides through the front. You'll probably need a mallet and a big flat screwdriver to gently...

The cord could be broken inside your Marquise, close to the end, in the reel.

Electrolux AP-200 ligths up but doesn't work

I changed the bag door switch and the door three-blade connector (I had a spare door off of an AP-100) and now it works fine ! Thanks for your help.

Electrolux AP-200 ligths up but doesn't work

Well, when the bag door is closed, if I push firmly on it to close it a little bit tighter, the motor runs ! Does that mean that I have to clean the door bag switch? Any other suggestion?

Electrolux AP-200 ligths up but doesn't work

Hey all! I have a pretty nice AP-200. It is in very good condition but it doesn't work at all. When I turn the switch on, the bag light comes on, but that's all. What could be wrong? Is the valve under the 1-to-6 knob on top of the cleaner broken?
