Help please. Can someone identify age and model

Hi andyj, Ebay is your best way forward, especially if you are willing to have the items posted or couriered. You'd also be wise to sell the cleaners, the handbook and the tools as seperate lots. Neither cleaner is likely to fetch a fortune, the 725 needs restoration and lacks an original...

    Holy grail (for me)

Very nice Alistair, guess you'll have to choose another holy grail now! I reckon the Trident style carry handle looks rather neater than the Electrolux version. Does the logo appear on the other body side or just the handle? I could hsve sworn that Trident cleaners were sold through Comet or...

New Hoover Toys... The color of Senior's 6525E's

And look what's just popped up on ebay! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290474922139&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1154

New Hoover Toys... The color of Senior's 6525E's

Hey Mark, I believe the yellow version was made for House of Fraser, and the brown for Currys. There's one more - a green version, which might have been for Debenhams, cos I think it was a simliar olive colour to their exclusive 1346A. Simon

Orange Hoover 652 "senior" 220V for you

Al, I agree with you - I have seen 1346A Juniors on ebay.de with the coral coloured bag and front plate - a UK collector imported one a few years back. Nice colour though Joe, hope your friend manages to sell it! Simon

Unusual orange 6526C on Ebay at the moment

Definite recon! And someone has paid £60 for it! Although it has been quite nicely done... The later 6525E has a raised rather than sunken emblem mounting on the chassis, and uses the U4002 type handle bail and bag hook, plus the fragile plastic cord hooks. Simon

    My snazzy Hoover Junior!

Bit more info... The early style hose (like yours, Fred) can use either the early adapter or the later type - the later hose with the plastic tube uses a bayonet fitting so the early type adapter isn't compatible (no slots for the lugs on the connector). I've got a spare early adapter, let me...

    A Rare Model Restored

Fantastic! Alistair, I'm so glad that you've gotten this machine restored, Neil and Bob have done a stunning job on the old gal! Don't suppose you have a 'before' picture as well? Think I vaguely remember it on Ebay... The handle is intriguing - was the idea to make it easier to get the...

Packs Away Just Like A Suuuuitcase!!!!!

Great finds! You can't argue with £2.50, can you? I think that Junior Compact was a mail order exclusive, very rare with the U1012 type base! And I haven't seen a 500 for years, good work all round, boys!

    Model 65 ... in Pink!

Doh! I meant to say Armorall like John just said, not Autosol, which is a metal polish! Well, they both begin with the same letter...

    Hoover Model 700

Hey Rob, the 700/800 series use the 612/638/912 belt, whilst the 400s (except the 425 with the flat belt) use the 262 kind, hard to find here but equivalents can be sourced from the USA. The motor and agi should both spin freely, but it's normal for the bag to take a wee while to inflate. My...

    Model 65 ... in Pink!

Hey Nick, I used to have one of these, I think the vinyl is quite stiff by nature. I used a product called Autosol on mine after wiping it clean with a damp cloth, not sure if you get it in Aus, but it's a protector spray for plastic parts on cars like dashboards. Be careful if the bag looks...

    Latest Addition (Number 1)

Hey Seamus, congratulations, that has to be the nicest 638 I've ever seen! How's the flex? Looks good! And the handgrip is remarkable! Hope the polishing kit works well, hope you let us know! Looking forward to seeing your other find too!

    Exhibition update

Glad the exhibition went well, and that 800 is stunning! Have you thought about contacting other museums? If you could get it into the Design Centre you really will have turned the wheel 360 degrees, and you really do have both the knowledge and exhibits! Still, it'll be nice to get them back...

    Constellation Help

This one? Although it looks kind of blue on my monitor, but the older type floor tool gives it away! <object width=425 height=344><param name=movie value=></param><param name=allowFullScreen value=true></param><param name=allowscriptaccess value=always></param><embed src=...

    Servis???? No Just Hoover!

Nice find lads! Good to see they're not extinct yet! There's something very 80s about those wheels... Colours aside, is there any real difference between the Spirit and the Powerglide? Well done with the Freedom too, not ashamed to say I'm a bit green over that! But it's gone to a good home...

    Some new finds ......

Lovely! Nice finds Al, that Power Drive looks very well looked after! The AEG is quite an interesting variation on the CFA upright theme, is it a UK market machine? Hope the Harlequin buffs up nice, I thought they all had bag-full indicators! That flex though, I reckon it would take a lot of...

    Hoover 800/Special 825 cord problem

Originally there would have been a small A-shaped piece of fibreboard that went behind the switch plate, and the thread that lines the flex would have been tied to it, to prevent the cord being pulled out. Your best bet would be to get something to clamp the flex to behind the switch plate - a...

    O.M.F.G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! simply stuck for words...

That's the one! The only time I dealt with that particular un-named Ebayer, he made a huge fuss over me not sending the item the next day - and when I pointed out that I was within Ebay rules he started moaning about the packaging. I very politely offered him a full refund if he returned the...

    O.M.F.G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! simply stuck for words...

That's me! I always said I wouldn't sell it, but in the last year or so I've been pruning down my collection - a lot of items were kept in storage for years, but a) it's expensive, b) some of my items ended up getting damaged, and c) it's too easy to bung stuff in storage and then just leave it...
