    New Innovative Dyson FluffyCones PencilVac

Though I am not a big fan of Dyson moving their manufacturing out of the UK, I have to admit this new bare floor stick vac looks amazing!!!!

In Honor of US Armed Forces Day

As a Canadian, I am grateful for the work of the US Armed Forces next door as they indeed help the smaller Canadian army protect the free lives we live on the North American continent. That blue Eureka 1779 Power Team is one handsome cleaner!!!!

    Unusual Wards Mighty Mite

That is so cool! Love the classic white Eureka tools! Though the plastic ones yellow a lot over time.

Finally got a power head for my Eureka

As much as I love Eureka, I was very dissapointed with the hose handles these Power Teams had. The original 1973 Roto-Matic Power Teams had a molded rubber hose handle that gave the user a safe and comfortable grip to hold on to while vacuuming. A few years after these cleaners debuted, Eureka...

Finally packing, (boxing) tons of Hoover items

I always liked that cool looking British-made Hoover Harlequin canister with the wire tool rack. They were sold in Canada in the 1960’s - not sure about the USA. I also love my Hoover Platinum Lightweight bagged upright - I really think one of Hoover’s best modern uprights! So easy to use and...

    When was this Eureka released?

Sweden’s large multinational Electrolux company bought up many vacuum companies over the decades since the 1970’s. Because of this, they owned the rights to put many different brandnames on many different cleaners (Electrolux, Eureka, AEG, Sanitaire, Volta, Eureka-Forbes in India, Progress...

For sale: 1991 Eureka ESP limited edition model 1925

Taking a closer look at the first post, I can now see some green splotches that match the motor hood’s colour. I stand corrected…it’s probably the original bag.

    Eureka 1981-1984 Animated Ad Campaign

I must have had the 1425F. The two-piece handle was plastic. The Dial-a-Nap had 4 settings. The logo on both the nose of the motor head and the bag was the classic Eureka Williams font in a box with the boomerang E+W graphic. The brandname was on a stiffer plastic add-on label on the bag in...

Surface Care Appliances & Shoes in Browns & Beiges

Lots of General Electric vacuums in the 1940’s and 1950’s were coloured in brown tones - often a combination of “milk chocolate” bodies and attachments with “dark chocolate” bumpers and highlights. My parents’ first vacuum was a Canadian GE AirFlo cylinder vac in those colours. The tools look...

    Black and Decker CA1440 found.

In Canada, we had a lot more corded canister vacs branded as Black and Decker. It seems that this may have been the result of Canadian General Electric appliances being bought by Black and Decker in Canada some time in the 1980’s. All our CGE toaster-ovens and irons became B&D items at some...

    Eureka 1981-1984 Animated Ad Campaign

Thanks Jimmy!!!! What memories! My Eureka 1425 had the same kind of box! I proudly took it back to Montreal on a flight back from Florida in the winter of 1982! It fit in the overhead compartment in the cabin! My carton showed the 1425 picture though (royal blue base with everything else...

Oops! Ignore my last post!!! I was confusing Model 1925 with the old Model 1425! Sorry for the error!!! 🙁

For sale: 1991 Eureka ESP limited edition model 1925

Oh yes…colour fading due to sunlight or smoking…that makes sense! It’s great to see the last version of Eureka’s venerable basic Model 1925. If you Google Eureka Model 1925, you will see the various versions over the years. Yours is the nicest one, I think! Cool Eureka Precision motor hood...

Finally got a power head for my Eureka

Finally got a power head for my Eureka

You’re welcome! There is always a “sweet spot” in vacuuming with a very powerful cleaner…just enough suction to provide enough airflow but not too much suction so that the cleaning tool can’t freely move over the surface being cleaned. In the case of power nozzles with rotating brushes, the...

Finally got a power head for my Eureka

If the power nozzle is hard to push, why not just open the suction relief valve on the hose handle? You’ll still get enough suction to bring the dirt up into the hose, but it won’t be so hard to push.

Advice On Karcher hard floor cleaner

I think the better floor washer is the Hoover Streamline. But in any case, with the Karcher, you should only use the cleaning fluid sold by Karcher with the cleaner. Companies that sell these floor washers design specific formulas that are compatible with the brush roll in the machine and that...

    Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Lawsuits

Oh yes…that Lewyt lawsuit is quite important. I wonder if the user that was injured died. Something must have happened to cause all Eureka vacuums to have the following warning clearly displayed on all their hose handles: “Electric shock could occur if used outdoors or on wet surfaces.”

For sale: 1991 Eureka ESP limited edition model 1925

That is a nice Eureka! Though I wonder if that’s the original bag as it does not seem to match the sea-green tone of the motor hood. The bag seems to have more purplish tones, not green.
