    Kirby Classic Omega bag conversion

"its much detested factory dump bag" When I was a little boy it was always a big thrill to see someone dumping a Kirby bag. Most people stood the machine over several layers of newspapers to do so. I now enjoy doing this myself. It's fun! Yeah...I'm nuts. Who in here isn't?!

Vintage Hoover Model 425 Vacuum Cleaner (very expensive !)

What does California have to do with it? Do we really need California bashing? There are many fine people in California. (I have met more than a few crooks and creeps from Indiana, your home state, but you'll never hear me dissing the entire state.)

Finally, the oldest vacuum in my collection.

The Model 28 is a lovely machine and one of my favorite Hoovers. I've had quite a few of them come and go over the years. Here's the one I currently have. I have the attachments and caddy but they're down in my workshop.

    Capacitor on Electrolux XXX vacuum

Model XXX was sold from 1937 to 1954. When the LX came out, the XXX became a lower-tier model until the Model E came out in late 1954. It was sold for a longer period of time than any other model. Here are some random photos I came across while searching for a particular image that I -finally-...

If you thought eBAY used to suck, just read this...

I've been a member of eBay since 1998, with 100% perfect feedback. Previously, when a buyer made a purchase from an eBay seller, the funds would be immediately deposited in the seller's linked bank or credit account and, later, in seller's PayPal account. I hadn't sold anything on eBay for a...

    Unusual Electrolux Model V??

The illustration above is incomplete. In addition to the models shown, there were also Models VI, VII, VIII, and IX -- sold in different parts of the world. I believe the Model VII was a German model.

How to fix color on Electrolux XXX?

Personally, if it was me I'd leave it as-is. I've found the hard way that trying to "improve" an old vacuum cleaner like this usually ends in sadness.

    Unusual Electrolux Model V??

The Model VII wasn't sold in the U.S. We went from the Model V to the Model IX.

    Unusual Electrolux Model V??

    It's a Model VII. Not a Model V.

    Electrolux Model G original price?

Here's a Model G receipt dated September 24, 1963. As Tom said, the cost of the cleaner was $149.75 and the power nozzle was $49.75. Note the serial number of the trade-in: T60728K. It's hard to pinpoint what model that was. Electrolux used that serial number format from the Model XXX at least...

    Kirby Dual Sanitronic Question…

Because the motor will soon burn out. The higher speed is to give higher suction through the hose and wand but not meant to be used for long periods of time.

Repair manual for Electrolux Model G?

"By the way, the difference between a tank vacuum cleaner & a canister vacuum cleaner is the position of the motor. A tank's is mounted vertically and a canister's is horizontal." I did not know that. I always assumed that a canister vacuum cleaner is shaped like a canister and a tank vacuum...
