    $30 in Hoover 925s

By the way, according to Stan Kann (R.I.P.) The Hoover 1934 Model 925 -- called the Hoover Sentinel -- was a heavy-duty commercial model.

    $30 in Hoover 925s

The 925 is my favorite coffee-can Hoover. I loved the scrolling on the rug nozzle housing and the radiating lines on the light bulb housing.

    Kirby Model 519

Such a beautiful Kirby! The later 500-series red-trim models, 516-561, are my favorites.

    KIRBY VACUUM PERSON

Does anyone know who "KIRBY VACUUM PERSON" on Pinterest is? He hasn't posted any of his own photos, just other peoples', even those with copyright notices on them, using them without asking first. https://www.pinterest.com/kirbyperson2/

    MY NEW VINTAGE KIRBY WEBSITE!

I don't have a dog in this fight and wasn't going to say anything, but I'm going to say something anyway. It's absolutely jaw-dropping that someone would dismiss the entirety of odavid's brilliant Kirby web site and instead level criticisms about what that person perceives as "flaws."...

How to tell a Kirby model 508 bag from 509 and 510 bags ?

FWIW any pre-DS50 bags that are white or tan are either faded or else bojack replacements.

What a fantastic, incredible, beautiful web site! I know it was a tremendous amount of work but surely was a labor of love. I ~love~ this photo!

    1950 model 510 sweet-Aire plug !

I've never seen one like this. I have, however, seen (and may still have) a plug that's identical to the red one except that it's gray.

    Kirby models 516-561 question

The “500 Series” Kirby Vacuum Cleaners Model 516 - 1956 First totally new, dramatically redesigned Kirby in over 20 years!! Called the "50th Anniversary Kirby" in company literature (although that seems to be stretching the point a little -- granted, Jim Kirby made his first mechanically...

    Zelle Scams on Facebook Marketplace

Facebook Marketplace users beware! A scammer, just a bit more stupid than me, tried to scam me on a speaker I'm selling. The scenario has unfolded exactly as the lady selling baby items is discussed in the link below.[this post was last edited: 7/20/2023-16:55]...

What vacuum does this attachment belong to ?

I don't understand the comment that no Aer-Rotors were sold. If that's the case, then why did Kirby produce sales materials for that vacuum cleaner?

    vintage as daily

I do have one Compact. I've had several different ones come and go over the years but this one is my favorite.

    vintage as daily

Absolutely! I use my vintage machines on a regular basis mainly because I don't have any modern ones! Well, I have one, an Electrolux Marquise that's a great performer but too noisy for me. Give me the gentle purr of a Model XXX or G any day! Old machines need to be used. If they sit around...

    A Funny Kirby Recollection

@centralvacs1928 I don't know. This happened in 1962 or '63. So it was most likely a Model G. Mama had an E-Automatic. I remember that the Electrolux Man had a big station wagon chock-full of various models -- AF, S, R, G and maybe others, and lots of parts and hoses. He came by one day and...
