5071 Maintenance, Color Schemes, Differences between sub models (B, D etc.)

I have one of those and I wouldn't be afraid of plugging it in and turning it on. Start out with the handle in neutral and see how it sounds. I would make sure to make sure the brushroll spins freely without a belt, then install a new RD Eureka belt. Next check the rear wheels and make sure they...

    Bison Commercial model?

It's hard to believe that there are many survivors of that vacuum being used in a commercial setting. They didn't hold up well under residential use!

    Oreck Introduces the Elevate Uprights

Checked them out... I had to get some product from my old Oreck store and had a chance to try out the new models. Really just cosmetic from I could tell, right down to the narrow air flow tube on the Control and the wimpy brushroll(IMHO). One thing I did notice was on the two-speeds, when you...

    Windtunnel question....

This is a really nice example of a USA made Windtunnel, very clean. Where were the Farrington models sold, I seem to think it might have been Home Depot? These are hard to beat for carpet cleaning. http://www.ebay.com/itm/322104630196?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    Model L

Nice job, looks so much better! I hear those wheels are a b***h to do. I have that model as well, mine was a gift from fellow Vacuumlander Phillip M. It's hard to beat any of those older models. I have a couple of vinyl hoses I use with mine, my originals all leak.

    Insaine Ebay prices

Yeah, well, let's see if it doesn't pop up for bid again, but then again, there are a lot of people with more money than brains. I have contact with some every day I go to work.

Already for this years Convention so so excited!!!

Fee question.... I'd like to know if the 75.00 convention fee is refundable if unable to attend. Thanks

Have a look at the description of the Hoover 425.

You can be sure... If you get a restored Hoover/Kirby from Marty, it will be a fresh as it was when it was new. His restorations are meticulous! He has done work for me on several Hoovers, and they come back like new. When he restored my 634, he couldn't stand to let it come back to me with the...

    Oreck Introduces the Elevate Uprights

Oreck survival... Since the TTI buyout of Oreck, they have done next to nothing to promote the brand, sad. The St. Louis area is down two stores from seven, all thriving stores at the time when Oreck had more of a public presence. The only way some are surviving are the ones allowed to carry...

    Oreck Introduces the Elevate Uprights

Legend and Kenmore... I think the Oreck Legend was a model offered by QVC if remember correctly. It was a good model, similar to XL21s/Platinums without the long warranties and priced quite a bit less. I have one of the above Kenmores, gifted to me by Dan Pontow, fellow Vacuumlander. I saw it...

Already for this years Convention so so excited!!!

Thanks Kenny! I'm really looking forward to it. I have to say since 2006 I've attended all but a couple of conventions, and have had a really good time at each one. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones!

    First of a long run....

This is a really nice specimen of the first non-headlight Hoover Convertible, and appears all original. The seller is a fellow collector friend of mine, and when he puts a vacuum out there for sale, it's a good one! This began about a 20yr. run of wonderful Hoovers...

    NOW I'm confused!

As told to me.... I was told that the last Legend was kind of a "fill-in" model for the salesman to sell due to the new Generation III was not doing so well in the testing before it's release. I don't know if it was the transmission or what. I'm sure there's someone on here that can enlighten us.

I'm sure that must be a typo..her other bags listed are priced reasonably.

    Simplicity 7 Series

Congrats! I have that same model Alex and it's one of my favorites to use in my rotation of uprights. Fortunately mine came to me in pristine condition from a fellow collector, not even a nick in the finish. I really wasn't looking for one but the color caught my eye, almost like the color of...

    Insaine Ebay prices

Smoking their socks! Thanks Gareth for giving me a good hearty laugh at near end of a very stressful day! Truly some auctions start out at a ridiculous price, and they think someone will bid them up? Not likely. That's why the frequent post on here from a new poster, "how much is this vacuum...

Vintage Montgomery Ward Vibrabeat Canister Vacuum SP-381-A w/Tools AND BAGS

    That's one gorgeous machine! I guess I have what must be a later model, as it's a two-tone champagne/taupe color. That's quite a find!

    Todays Vac of the day

I thought somebody told me a long while back that the full size Hoover top loaders were re-badged Norge? No? I think I know who, but I wouldn't dare say.

    Weird Oreck Canister

I've had a couple of those, retaining one for my collection. They're not a bad vacuum, had the Big Foot power nozzle which was used on several vacuums and central systems as well. If I recall, one of the Whirlpool made Kenmore's bags fits it. I worked for Oreck, so I have some original. Like...

    Eureka Power Sweep Commercial

Another one.... Check this out...looks nice. It has the swivel connector from the older canisters. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Eureka-Power-Sweep-Industrial-Vacuum-Cleaner-Works-Great-Condition-/182101784866?hash=item2a661cb922:g:U~wAAOSwlfxXGXnP
