    Sebo X4 Premium Pet

I picked up a Windsor XP12 from the curb a few months back. Took it apart, cleaned it, stuck a new filter and brushroll in it, and it's been my daily driver... Until yesterday, when I picked up a blue Sebo X4 Automatic. $140usd on Craigslist was too good to pass up. It's a little less beat up...

Why are Aerus/Lux Type C Bags So Abudant and Cheap Compared to Other Vacuum Bags?

I'd venture a guess they're cheap because they've been used in every single canister vac that Electrolux produced since the 1950's, and thus the companies that produce the bags haven't had to re-tool with each generation. Any patents on the design of the bag have long since expired as well.

Windsor SR12 Height Adjustment Not Working

Update: tried it again after work today, and it's adjusting as it should. My guess is it either got some moisture where it shouldn't have (as a result of the cleaning), or the ribbon cable connections on the board are dirty (I'll try DeOxit if the issue returns). On the plus side, the...

Windsor SR12 Height Adjustment Not Working

Hello everyone. I picked up a Windsor SR12 earlier in the week. It was pretty beat up and absolutely disgusting inside, but everything seemed to be working. I took it apart and cleaned it, and changed the brush roll but when I reassembled it, the automatic height adjustment no longer works...

    "Trash Find" Vacuums Thread

Windsor XP12, next to a dumpster. Missing a bunch of screws on the bottom (heading to the hardware store tomorrow), and it was filthier than I could've imagined inside, but everything works. Popped in a new bag, brushroll, and filter, and it runs like a champ.

generic electric Electrolux hoses - varying quality

Update on the 10 foot generic hose I received my 10 foot hose from Sweeper City a few weeks ago. No complaints whatsoever. The power button and slide suction control are very convenient (never could get that dial control figured out on the original hose, although it's possible that it was...

    Why canisters?

A canister works better for me, simply because a compact power nozzle can get to places (in my small, cluttered apartment) that a bulky upright cannot.

generic electric Electrolux hoses - varying quality

I bought a 10 foot electric hose for my 2100 from Sweeper City. No idea if it'll be good or not. I'll post a thread when it arrives (UPS tells me Tuesday of next week). A 6 foot hose is just too short for a canister, IMHO.

my introduction and some other thoughts

Good price and a good machine. I believe you can use almost any power head with a 1.25" fitting and pigtail electrical connection, commonly used on central vac systems.

We had one for a bit when I was growing up, but the motor burned out within a year.

    Whats your favorite Electrolux model!

I've only ever used one; my 2100. The Sidekick was unfortunately lost long ago, I might bite the bullet and get another one from eBay.
