Opinions on what vintage vacs would sell today..??

todays vac I would buy a new Hoover Dial a Matic in a heartbeat. It's simple hose hook up and good suction made it the best all around vac I ever owned. Plus, it was the only upright I ever used that followed you around with the hose attached and did not tip over like todays uprights. The Kirby...

    vac of the day

I really enjoy the vac of the day and check it everyday.Todays Hoover is what I feel is the one of the most beautiful. Love that hood color and wild bag. Being a child of the 70's I remember well the designs in clothes that seemed to have even spilled over to vac bags.

    Vac of the day Citation

I love the photo of the vac of the day, the Hoover Citation. I think I asked this before, but I have forgotten. Did that model have a 2 speed motor? If not how much wattage? If it was only a one speed 420 watt, how was tool suction?

Hoover Dial A Matic rug adjustment

I saw a beautiful DAM on Ebay. It does not have a rug adjustment. I had one and it had a lever on the front to adjust. How do you adjust this model, which must have been an early one?I am partial to DAMS, as it was my first vac in my first place, and I have always wanted to replace it.

    G.E. AVF 17-A VACUUM

GE That GE is the vac I grew up with. My brother was terrified of it.IT was my parents first vac bought in 1948. We had it until the early 70's. IT went to the repair shop many times. It just kept falling apart. In the end nothing stayed put anymore. The hose was very difficult to attach. When...
