Does anyone have those days they just want to get done and not fiddle with the vacuum?

I use upright vacs for quick cleaning and canisters for most all else. A canister with cord winder is a cinch to take in and out and do the job for me. I love power npzzle canisters for most tasks. I have dedicated wand sets with bare floor brushes so I don't have to swap a power nozzle off...

    Asking for opinions

I wouldn't fret over $40 for a Decade 800. They are a fun, great cleaning machine and easy to service. Go for it. I have two Decades. The Decade 800s feature: Long cord 4 height adjustment Dual headlight bulbs large capacity Hoover A bag, available in HEPA Hoover Beater bar well reknowned...

HEPA/Synthetic bag with 1 7/8 inch dia opening?

Riccar Supralite F bags will fit Dirt Devil D. I have used them in two Dirt Devil Featherlite uprights.

Aerus LLC (Electrolux USA) 100th Anniversary Models?

Yes, Rob Walton I was perfectly well aware of that! Very easy to tell when I opened up the unit that there were many more cogs on the belt and pulleys compared to several years ago. Aerus will never re-join with Electrolux AB. Electrolux AB is leaving the vacuum market. Aerus separated off...

    Hoovers

I have two Decades and neither rattles. Are your brush roll bearings in good shape huskyvac? Also the metal brush rolls can warp.

    My vacuum sightings

Someone butchered that hose! That was a Top of the Line model and originally would have come with an 8' hose. That one has been shrunk down. Excellent machines!

    Forgotten Hoover Products

I have always been a lover of Hoover power head canisters. From the early Celebrity to the later PowerMax/ Futura/ Spectrum/ Windtunnel S bag style units. I really like them. We also can't forget the awesome headlight of their Decade style hoods as seen in the last photo.

    More suction power???

You're welcome. The PortaPower is a good machine. But if you want something with a lot more power, larger bag capacity, a wheeled system, the Bissell or Perfect will prove well for you. If you think of it and get a chance, check out or even call your local vac shop to see if they have one in...

    Possible filter retrofit?

You might want to think about doubling up the layer of your 1/4" thick donut for the exhaust filter. The wheel base depth is closer to 5/8" deep from what I remember and a good muffler will fill the entire depth so that the foam rests up against the machine itselt once the wheel base is...

    Bagged thrift store sightings

The blue on that Kenmore upright is HOT!! I probably would've bought it just for being blue. aahahaha

    Possible filter retrofit?

If you're having allergy issues due to stuff in the motor, then blow it out. Hoover actually made it very easy to get to the motor on this unit. You had to remove some bolts from under to the bag in-order to replace the muffler foam. The next step is removing a few screws that hold the white...

    More suction power???

If you're looking for a lightweight, bagged, powerful canister then the Perfect C105 or similar is where you want to look! From internet photos, you might confuse the C105 to a Sanitaire/ Eureka Mighty Mite style machine. It is not! The Perfect is larger, not by a ton but it's slightly larger...

(1991) Sanitaire Heavy Duty model 654B.

Sounds to me like the motor was replaced. That sounds a lot more like a 7 amp than it does a 5.5 amp. Still a great machine. Nice find.

[Habitat Restore Find] Eureka 2364 A

Great vacs! I hope by now that you have flipped the brush roll 180 degrees! The shorter end of brush patter on brush roll goes with shorter opening of base plate. That way the belt is protected more by the rug guard on base plate.

    Eureka 200 Series

Wow, that's a big list! My knowledge of that era is quite limited. Would be cool to find pamphlets of all the machines and learn what color, features pertained to various models.

    Ahhh. remember when......

That wasn't the absolute best vacuum market but I'd gladly revert back to the era of the first 3 photos over what we have now!! I'd love to have Sears back too!

    Hoover Dimension in Red

That's a Hot Rod Red!! Gorgeous, very nice find! It's one of the last of the Elites since it has the 12amp motor and that also helps explain it being louder too.

    first post.

Welcome to the group! Great looking collection you have brewing. Are you in any Facebook vac groups too? You're in a good neck of the woods. I'm in State College.

    DIY Noise Reduction Eureka Bravo

Here's a video comparison that I made of mine a few months back along with a very unique WorldVac upright.

    DIY Noise Reduction Eureka Bravo

Have you serviced it?? Something tells me that your machine is suffering a malfunction. I have the same model and love it. It's quieter than the Hoover Windtunnel upright I had which was a TTI version with shrill motor. I have replaced the brush roll and greased both motor bearings. The...
