    Just some thoughts.

As much as I love my sweepers, they are not the primary focus in life. I work 60+ hours a week on top of being a full time college student. Most days the last thing I want to do when I get home is rattle off a post online or toy with a sweeper. These days getting the vacuum sweepers out or...

    almost first Hoover!

Originally used the W or Handisac bag. They have not been made for about 40 years and are heavily sought after. With some coaxing a type C bag will work, or F&G eureka.

Hoover Model 700 Brush Roll Brush Strips?

Also that bag will not work. You will need a Round bag ring with an old style Large Oval or Round ring opening with no zipper, cloth shakeout style. Try asking Chicago Mike, he has had success with making replacements.

Hoover Model 700 Brush Roll Brush Strips?

What "Run" is your sweeper? The 700 had different brushrolls throughout the run. First run cleaners used 8639 (long) and 8640 (Short). Second Series used 8955 (long) and 8956 (Short). Alternate first series style was 86187 (long) and 86188 (short). Remove the old brush inserts, the number...

Indeed, a Fleetwood Sixty-Special belonging to Owen Perkins. I was given the privilege to drive it around the neighborhood

    Jeff Parker's mini meet

It was great to see you, Kenny, along with everybody else! I came home with plenty of goodies, so I guess I need to find my Digital Camera and dust off the collection for pictures. A wonderful time indeed, and I look forward to the next one!

    RARE Hoover on eBay

I dont see how this is any different, as it has bristles on it and rotates 360 degrees. The original spangler sweeper had a section of broom handle with goats hair bristle stapled to it and rotated 360 degrees while in use. And that one comes from 1907. Are you saying the term "brushr oll" was...

    RARE Hoover on eBay

Authentic, indeed. I am not totally sure if the agitator is original, but that is beside the point Murray Spangler put an agitator on the original sweeper back in 1907, so it makes sense for this "child" of his original to have it. Where the term Brushroll really came from, I'm not sure.

    Electrolux "jar" sprayer

Thanks Greg! Not concerned about the sprayer or truck, Alan. I just never really knew if the sprayer jar was made for use with the Electrolux suds or other applications. But thanks for the input.

Some neat Hoover model 700 upgrades (and a question)

Would love to have the designs for that fill tube, a friend of mine has a small 3d printer

    Electrolux "jar" sprayer

A few years back, Ken Wagman gave me one of the "jar" sprayers to complete my Electrolux LX. I really never used it, but I am wondering, can I use it to spray the shampoo water mix I use in my B8 shampooed in it? I would love to shampoo the seats in my pickup, they are showing their age...

Running a 120v AC vacuum from 12v DC

You also have to think, a car battery runs on Direct current, but a vacuum motor is made to run off of Alternating current. You could wither find a 12 volt DC motor to fit or get a power converter to run it properly off the battery. Know that those power converters have a load limit as well.
