    Window shopping . . .

Roll Easy R1 . . . It's on eBay and it looks nice -- with bags no less. Disclaimer: I neither know nor have any business affiliation with the seller http://www.ebay.com/itm/GE-Roll-Easy-R1-Vacuum-Cleaner-COMPLETE-/190652021551?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c63befb2f#ht_500wt_1106

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@billybud21 . . . Rainbows are decent performers but -- again -- an acquired taste. The big issue is whether or not users are prepared to give them adequate care. They certainly are not worth the investment if the user only does slapdash maintenance. A long while back I read in some of its...

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@gsheen . . . Thanks much for the info. It also being Italian in origin, then this must be what the Hyla evolved from.

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

@floor-a-matic . . . The cheap ones like Aroma and Thane usually sell flavor of the day style via TV spots, infomercials and on the net like the erstwhile Garry Vac. In past I've seen an aired Ocean Blue ad or two as well. Machines priced up comparably to Rainbow are sold door-to-door...

    Electrolux DuraLite / Sanitare SC9050

@Davinator . . . Cool! Thank you, I've been wondering what the noise level for this machine was -- not great but certainly not the worst. I believe I even caught the hum of the brushroll at work which is never a bad thing.

    Old Hoover attachments

Talking floor nozzles -- for straight-suction canisters and tanks back in the day a "dedicated" nozzle for rugs was probably the better thing. Not many associated vacuums with bare floors thus many a brand and model were sold on claims as to what their straight-suction rug tool could do...

Availability of "air filter" for 1958 Electrolux Automatic Model E

Hold onto the old filter . . . Every now and then, the square filter for Electrolux tanks from the LX to just prior the G turns up on eBay. If you can't you can't wait long for the real thing, you can try vacuuming the filter you presently have if it hasn't suffered much from age. As...

    Electrolux DuraLite / Sanitare SC9050

I've been curious too . . . Hi "strickly," This cleaner, which has at least a couple of spins model-wise, plus a clean-air model intended to be dually angled at the commercial and household markets under both brands has been out for a while. I noticed it a good while ago but also noticed it...

Is lower power ever an advantage?

@vintagerepairer . . . Not meaning to get off topic but I'm in the process of trying out an induction cooker. It claims substantial savings on energy due to its efficiency and speed. I guess I'll be able to judge by way of the next two months' electric bills.

    Premier on Ebay

Whirlwind . . . It wasn't a great awakening but I just looked further down the page where the Premiere upright is posted on eBay and there is a Whirlwind canister posted too. Again, it is a GE vacuum renamed.

@saravacshack . . . Regarding the example . . . I think it doubtful the kids were waiting for Mom to croak but were probably ready to keel over themselves on learning she'd spent not $100, $200 or even $300 or $400 but more than a grand. I know lots of seniors who are perfectly capable at...

    Premier on Ebay

@chan55 . . . My vacuum history is never what it should be but -- through a fog cloud dimly . . . That is a Premiere vac of an initial General Electric design circa the early 1960s. Premiere, besides being a vac brand since way, way back in the day was as an alternate brand name GE used for...

    Vacuums using H2O filtration

One more for the pile . . . This is the Euro Pro water type I was trying to find. It preceded the Hyla brand by a good while. HSN used to sell it when it carried a major amount of Euro Pro product (vacuums and vapor steam cleaners). Also, this machine uses baffles and filters but no...

Is lower power ever an advantage?

@Sanifan . . . Hi, I think its molded that way to assure the electrical connection is polarized. New PN connections have had slight change in the molded plastic the prongs are seated in and their receptacles for the same reason. I have to admit I don't know how the polarized connection is...

    Filter Queen / Heartland Health Systems . . .

@danemodsandy Hi, What you say is true but the bad apples usually are never concerned about the product as much as they are about getting paid. As for return of payment. Many places have mandates for a "think window" -- my term -- of a few days but it is then upon the customer or his/her own...

@kribymodel2c / kirbysthebest . . . Thanks for being so forthcoming. I purchased a new Tradition, tools and all, for $350 way back day. Your info now assures me I got the good deal I thought I had. While I lived in New York, D-T-D wasn't done much, if at all. Electrolux/Aerus as I recall did...
