    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Magnet bar...? I have seen them both on vacuums, and in their plastic bubble packaging. I don't know how many versions might have been manufactured. If it has to fit in that narrow groove, then yes, it would cover the space where the holes would be.

Is the one to the left... in the picture the legendary Dirtmaster?

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Armor-all... is supposed to re-hydrate and recondition all manner of rubber and plastic. What could a good soaking hurt? Thoughts?

New Miele S8 UniQ vacuum cleaner on YouTube

I have always thought... a light on the handle would be brilliant! :)

    Emer Hercules clean air upright

The similarity of this vacuum... to the Lindhaus is superficial, upon closer examination. Lindhaus not only makes all of their own parts (including power nozzles and floor nozzles, they might use Wessel duster and crevice tool) the parent company, Rotafil, of Padova, Italy manufactures the...

    Turbotronic

The name 'Turbotronic' was bought by Metropolitan... The original manufacturer was located in New York. They called themselves "Arkay". The things you can learn from thumbing through old Yellow Pages

Is the Aerus (electrolux) brand disappearing?

Houseplants... clean VOC's out of the air. There is a book called "Grow Fresh Air" that gives specific varieties and the things they remove.

    Emer Hercules clean air upright

If this model is not disco'd... by Emer it soon will be. Buy plenty of bags. If this is overstock, it means it did not sell well. It is an attempt to imitate Lindhaus.

@anthony.. Over here, calico is a thin cotton fabric used for quilting.

Vacuuming Carpet vs. Area Rugs: same thing or different requirements?

The Lindhaus is a very effective cleaner... Lindhaus does all of their comparisons after all the vacuum cleaners have been in steady operation for 10 minutes. The fans are pulling air through a carpet, the belts are warmed up and expanded, the machine is in real life operation mode. The airflow...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

After a lengthy and technical conversation... with Cliff Brady at Lindhaus,(who agrees wholeheartedly with this mod, by the way) I think the holes in the back might do more good because the airflow will help cool the belt, reduce stretching under friction, and keep the agitator turning as the...

Is the Aerus (electrolux) brand disappearing?

It amazes me... how easily the American buying public is led astray by some trumped-up, misapplied, irrelevant marketing gimmick, like HEPA. It is true our houses are more tightly sealed. Sick building syndrome is a reality. But better filtering vacuum cleaners are only one part of the...

Is the Aerus (electrolux) brand disappearing?

The rate of filtration... at the exhaust is, for all practical purposes, irrelevant when particle size is below 2.5 microns, where pollen and mold begin. The exhaust filtration is measured when the vacuum cleaner is simply pumping air. What is the rate of filtration while the vacuum is picking...

Vacuuming Carpet vs. Area Rugs: same thing or different requirements?

Lengthy discussion... and question and answer session with Lindhaus rep Cliff Brady today (thanks Cliff!) yielded some pertinent info on this topic. The Lindhaus bristles are polished and arranged in a constant contact spiral pattern to avoid abrasion of even the most delicate carpets. The...

    Non-genuine Hoover style W bags

These are DVC brand 4 packs for models 60,61, and 62. They have open tops, as do the genuine original Hoover Handi-Sacs. The shop where I work has 10 of these. If interested, please e-mail me privately. The metal clip for the top is NOT included.

    Recreating/repairing vintage sateen bags

My guess would be... that the bags were treated with the same substance that the old-fashion blue-gray flannel dust cloths were treated with so they would grab and hold dust. They were sometimes referred to as "oiled" dusters and had a chemical smell to them. It had to be a very, very thin...

    Recreating/repairing vintage sateen bags

Sateen is a term often used incorrectly... it is a weave structure of over four warp threads, under one, over four, under one. It is available in a variety of colors. Most sites do not specify weights. There can be a huge difference in the thickness of the fabric and denseness of the weave. I...

    New Riccars For Sale Online

The prices of Riccar... vacuums are higher online to drive people into the dealers. Lindhaus does the same. If people buy something else, they will need something for it, and perhaps then go to a store that sells Riccar (or Lindhaus) and find out the price is lower. Someone who is interested...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

The question is... would the holes in front actually serve the same purpose? I am not certain one way or the other. I do know that interference patterns can sometimes improve certain outcomes. The holes in the bottom front would sweep the air under the agitator, not over it, I would think. The...

Sorry... I was not visualizing the holes there.
