    Vacuum Lines

Thanks everyone! It's interesting you mentioned the Oreck. I had an Oreck XL 40th anniversary vac years ago and don't remember it being that great. I was intrigued by the Oreck Axis upright on QVC but have read it's not good for frieze carpet..it stalls. I'm torn between that Oreck and the...

    Vacuum Lines

Hi everyone, As I'm sure most of you agree, there's nothing better than a freshly vacuumed rug. I was wondering which vacuums you felt leave the BEST looking lines in your carpets and rugs? Wasn't ever impressed with my Miele Twist's lines. Ironically enough, the Wessel-Werk/Vacuflo Edge...

    Hide a Hose Retrofit

Hi Everyone! I know central vacs aren't the usual topic of conversation on this thread but in the past, there was some discussions on the matter. During that time I believe someone had inquired whether or not it was possible to do a HAH retrofit in an existing build. I'm here to say that the...

    Was this worth 7:00!!!!!Simplicity 5200

I'd say that's well worth the $7.00! My parents bought that vacuum new in 1995 and used it for about 8 years before giving it to my older brother when he moved into his first house. I believe it still may be in use in his basement. At the time, it was a great vacuum. The dealer threw in the...

    Affordable Turbo BrushRecommendation's

I second the Turbocat recommendation. I have the Wessel Werk Edge powernozzle that runs circles around the turbocat, but if you can only go air-driven, than that would be the nozzle to buy. I use mine from time to time on our central vac and it does an adequate job of making the carpet look...

    Dusting Brushes

Hi guys! Yes, I have seen those tools and often wondered if they would fit my central vac hose. I know that my parents tools from their Dyson DC07 and Dyson DC17 don't fit on their new Dyson DC41. I didn't want to purchase the Dyson tools until I was sure they would fit the central vac hose...

    Dusting Brushes

Hi, that is the brush! The Shark tool doesn't push dust around as much in my opinion. It also covers a larger surface much quicker...I'm a busy guy and appreciate the short cuts whenever possible!

    Dusting Brushes

Hi All, So as you know, I replaced my Miele Twist with a Shark Rotator Lift Away which I love for my in-between cleanings with the central vac. What I really love is their multi-angle dusting brush! It is perfect for dusting just about every surface in my house. Unfortunately, it can't be...

    recent vacuum sightings on TV

As a side note I will say that the Shark Rotator's actual performance is just as good in reality as it is portrayed during the infomercials. I'm not sure it will physically last as long as its warranty but longevity isn't something most consumers are considering these days.

    Nutone hose

I too would love to find a 598 powerhead...there was one on Ebay last week and I didn't get it! Go figure ;)

    Nutone hose

Thanks for the quick reply...I had no idea about the button lock position. I guess I'd have to pick up the matching powerhead...the one that looks similar to the Roto-Matic powerhead my mom had on one of her vacuums growing up. Right now I have the Vacuflo electric hose with the Edge (Wessel...

    Nutone hose

Hi All, Just wondering if the Nutone hose shown in the picture would fit a standard universal outlet or if it only works in the older square Nutone outlets from the 90's? Thanks for any guidance...looking to get a basic hose for my upstairs.

    SHARK VACUUMS

I had been looking for a lighter weight replacement for my Miele Twist to use during the week in between deep cleaning sessions with the central vac. I ended up purchasing the Shark Rotator (fully expecting to return it) and couldn't believe how great it performed! It's relatively light...

    Vac Recommendations

Just wanted to thank you all for your recommendations! I actually ended up purchasing a Shark Rotator Lift Away vacuum and CANNOT believe how well it works for such an inexpensive machine! I had a 20% off coupon at Bed, Bath & Beyond which brought the price down to about $200. I only intended...

    Vac Recommendations

Thanks so much guys! I forgot to mention that I have a Miele canister sitting in my basement from my last house so I guess I was leaning towards an upright with brushroll shut-off. I'm starting to consider a Shark Navigator because I have a 20% off coupon at Bed Bath & Beyond along with a $75...

    Vac Recommendations

That's too funny...actually saw that Oreck on tv this morning. However, it doesn't have a hose and dog hair quickly gathers on the sofa. My parents had an Electroux Epic 3500 when I was in college and I remember it worked well but again, no hose. See why I had to come to you guys...who knew...

    Vac Recommendations

Thanks so much for the recommendation! I have read good things about that model with the exception of belts slipping. I think I may want something a little less bulky as that's one of the more annoying quirks of the Miele Twist...that IS a bulky machine!

    Vac Recommendations

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if I could get some help from you all in deciding on a secondary vacuum for my home? My 4 month old house is about 4,000 sq. ft without the unfinished basement so there is a LOT of floor to clean! My main level is all hardwood floors and wool area rugs with the...

    longer central vac hose

Thanks guys! Yes the unit itself is VERY powerful! It ranks up there (if not surpasses) the suction of my parents' MD Silentmaster. I thought there was no way it would match that unit's power but have been pleasantly surprised! The inlets are universal as my electric hose has a pigtail cord...

    longer central vac hose

Hi All, I was wondering if a 40ft low-voltage central vacuum hose would carry enough suction to drive a turbocat powerhead? I have a 30ft electric hose that came with my Dirt Devil 990 central vac and it's great with the Wessel Werk "Edge" powerhead. However, given the placement of my...
