    Electrolux X1 - Information Wanted!

Well, I could not resist!!    10 minutes ago I plugged the cable into my light socket and guess what?  The Lux purrs like a kitten.  The suction was almost non-existent as the cloth bag is clogged with years of dust as was the filter pad, but the bag is now in the washing machine on a...

    Electrolux X1 - Information Wanted!

I completely agree Edgar and will not be doing anything to it other than giving it a simple clean up.   Being the person I am, I will likely end up using it with the bayonet fitting it has, but should I find a replacement with a standard plug "end" I will buy it and fit it.  You are right...

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

Indeed it would David.   One day I would like to, if John would let me, visit his house and see all his wonderful HOOVER appliances in their "natural habitat"!

That heater is gorgeous John!!  Do you have any "portable" heaters like the one I posted about in the Household forum yesterday?

    Electrolux X1 - Information Wanted!

Well I was certainly not expecting this as a leaving present from my work colleagues!  Yes, it is an Electrolux X1!!   And that is all I know about it admittedly, as Electrolux is not my "main" brand and even if it were a HOOVER, I would still be pretty clueless considering it seems to be...

    1997 Dyson DC01 Absolute +

And the Dyson has now gone to a new home!!   I spent £10 buying it, no petrol money as I was going into town anyway and the only part I had to buy was a new hose for £6 on eBay, so given that I sold it for £30 I've just made myself an easy £14 profit.   If only I could get my hands on...

My God Chris, you agreed with me - are you feeling OK!?

    1997 Dyson DC01 Absolute +

Thing is though, it is either one or the other.   The newer Dysons I have used (DC04 and DC07) did indeed have better suction, but they felt like they could fall to bits at any given moment.   The DC01 feels very well made, actually on par with the Turbopower 2 in terms of build quality...

    1997 Dyson DC01 Absolute +

Well, after two days I've had enough!!  The Dyson is not staying.   On a positive note, it is the quietest and best made Dyson I have used, but as with all Dysons it is pathetic when it comes to carpet cleaning.   The surface dirt and dust is gone, but after going over the carpets again...

    HOOVER Purepower 700W

I did something I have not done in a while and checked Hoover's website, to find that they are now selling the Purepower (as well as a similar if not identical model called the Enigma) with a 700W motor.   That of course is a big difference from the 2100W motor in the "old" Purepower before...

    1997 Dyson DC01 Absolute +

I thought so Paul, side from the belt and hose which are replaceable parts, it is in very good condition with very few scratches to the plastic and no discolouration.

    1997 Dyson DC01 Absolute +

Well I've gone and done it again! Despite my hatered of the D-word today I picked up my third Dyson. To recap, the previous two were a DC04 in 2013 I got for free and sold for £60, and the other one was a DC07 I got this year again free and sold for £50. This one is different as I actually...

1991 Hoover Elite ll Total System Performance 430

But, thank goodness at least the facade is still there. Indeed, although for how much longer I don't know. If only I was a multi-milionaire I would buy all the Hoover buildings and ensure they remained as they were originally. Ah, at least I can dream!!

1991 Hoover Elite ll Total System Performance 430

Yes, according to Wikipedia and Google Maps there is a terrible looking Tesco at the rear and the front (where thankfully the lettering still remains affixed) has a sign advertising offices to let.

Please don't feel obliged to post the photos on here straight away - take time to rest! I know all too well what tiredness and stress can do and it isn't pleasant, you need to switch off from time to time.
