Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

Lindhaus Vs. PN33.......and the Stair Pro I got the Lindhaus PB14 a week ago, and I've got to take it for a spin a few times. I like it. Since nobody seems to have every heard of the PN33 power nozzle, I figure I'd shed some more light on it. It seems to have a few part numbers/model...

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Dyson stick vacs

I bet if I hooked my Central Vac's hose up to a dyson's hose, and had a face off, I think I could empty the dyson canister... LOL. If they weren't priced like Apple stuff, It'd be OK.

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Dyson stick vacs

The mantra of.... If it's free, it's for me is true of most everything. Dyson products are OK, but I agree their new price tags are out of line.

Consumer Reports no longer recommends Dyson stick vacs

I've been waiting for the consumer enthusiasm to die down for Dyson, as I'll admit they have a slick marketing campaign. Being a technician (computers and electronics) I know what makes a vacuum cleaner work better, and I have found many options much more suitable than what Dyson offers...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

I would like a Sebo power nozzle for fun, but the price keeps me away for now. The PN33 works extremely well, and the Lindhaus came up for less than 100$ with wands.. so I snagged it. If a good Sebo shows up for that kind of price, I'll grab it. Stair Pro has a cog belt. I've found it...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

I can say for sure that I DON'T want a vac pan... since I never use a broom in the kitchen. I usually vacuum it daily, and mop it 1-2 times a week. Thanks for the heads up on the Centec... I'll look for a deal. Today a (gently) used Lindhaus PB14 /w/ wands showed up for sale, so...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

The observers are correct. ThinkVacuums sells this nozzle as "Champion" and it also sells with the name Galaxy printed on it. The electric power is integrated into the wand, as you have no visible cord. The wand to this powerhead is "Special" but it fits a standard Centec hose. In...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

I saw another thread about the PN33 nozzle being a prototype for a hoover, and then that hoover canister not being made. The name on the bottom sticker just says "intertek" and has the model number of PN33. I listed many of the other name badges it sells as... there's more. It's got a...

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

Good afternoon everyone. It's been a few years since I've posted anything, but last time I was pleased that I upgraded my Central Vacuum system (That came with this 1975 home). Originally, it had a Nutone Central Vacuum with no model... someone said it was called 350. I got it working...

Big Box stores- Buy a new Vac, We will show you how to ruin it...

Does it really??? If a vacuum is designed with the motor after the bag and the filter, other than clog the bag will this really destroy it?

My Latest Rebuild, and it's Run Test

It sucks........ It appears to suck... and since it's a vacuum, that's a good thing. Looks like new condition now.

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

CV locations and venting. There's two places that people generally install their CV motors. #1 Basements #2 Garage Basement/closet installs are usually vented outside Garage units are usually not vented outside, but may be. The Imperium is so quiet, I could put it anywhere.... the...

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

As far as clogs go.... I generally don't have clogs in mine. I have sucked up some big stuff, and it made it all the way to the canister. The piping and plumbing does have lots to do with whether or not you get them. #1. CV pipe is PVC, but it's a 2"OD, with a smooth inside...

I Am Shocked: Kirby Gsix vs Shark Rotator Lift-Away Pro

Fun Tests.....Now.... Lets see it put up against a central vac.... I bet we could turn someones bags inside out. I love watching these tests.

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

Powerhead shoot out... I've read through most of the CV powerhead shoot-outs... Lindhaus and Wessel-Werk usually score the top of the chain... as with most CV products, They sell under a few brands. You learn what stuff looks like, and buy whatever brand is the cheapest in the product that...

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

Suck the paint off the wall...... It's incredible the power this unit has. My attachments are a hybrid of stuff. Initially I got a Nutone kit, which is a Vacuflo Turbo hose...and some various brushes. I have 2 vacuflo hoses, one says Nutone, the other says nothing. I also have some...

    Suck Factor Over 9000!

Hey everyone, I didn't know if there were any Central vac fans around here. I've fixed up my share of vacs over the years... I took a particular shine to Rainbow stuff. Then... I moved. The house I bought had a 70's Nutone central... which I fixed. Eventually a bearing started to...

    Wasteful America...

Parents need to teach their next of kin to fix things..... My dad taught me how to fix Vacuums, Lawn Mowers, Household electric and plumbing... nobody wants to get dirty anymore.

    Why do we like vacuums?

It's level 1 technology. It's a fun technology for those who like mechanical stuff, but don't want to get into advanced engineering. The principles of how they work are understandable to most people, and repairs usually are NOT that advanced. It's an interactive technology that you can...
