    Bissell PowerForce Compact

There was one of those PowerForce Compacts at Goodwill last weekend. It had all the parts and tools. I think they are very cute, but so far I haven’t bought any of the ones I’ve come across. I did get one of those bagged Powerforces, although I’ve yet to do anything with it. I like the colors...

    My vacuum sightings

Oh I would’ve snagged that in a heartbeat. I never see any high end Hoovers like that here and those variable Dimensions are super cool! I see a Kirby in the background too.

    My vacuum sightings

I’d forgotten about this thread but I did go to a thrift store this morning and saw these. That Quauntum X has been there since at least the summer, and at $99. That Hoover Windtunnel I found interesting, as that color (Garnet Metal I believe) is quite uncommon compared to the typical blue or...

    (2008) Hoover Windtunnel U5471-900.

I’m having a similar issue with the switch on my 2006 green Hoover Windtunnel SP.

    Ahhh. remember when......

Yes definitely Electrikbrooms branded Sears Kwik Sweep. I can also make out the vacuum bags displayed to the left of them with the green and blue package. And in the background, the sewing machine department. Although that was easier to see in the original picture.

    Ahhh. remember when......

I miss seeing the vacuum display at Sears and actually being able to look at and try the machines. Even when I bought a canister there in 2012, the salesperson was knowledgeable about the machine, the controls, showed me where each of the attachments were on the machine, and asked if I needed...

Unusual amount of vacs at Goodwill.

Usually my Goodwill might have 2-3 vacuums at a time, if any. I went Friday and there was nothing. I decided to stop in Sunday afternoon, and suddenly there was a whole slew of them. I can say about 15. There were 3 bagless Hoover uprights, a newer blue bagged Self Propelked Windtunnel, a...

    Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum

I like the IntelliClean uprights a lot, I have the teal blue bagged one and the purple bagless. I like the bagged better, mostly for the purple one because it brings memories as my friend’s mom had one. Only thing I don’t like about the uprights is the attachments aren’t as good as the...

    Kenmore Progressive Canister Vacuum

I got this off of Marketplace yesterday. Seems to be in pretty good condition, nothing a good cleaning and scuff removing won’t fix for the most part. However, the adjustable wand will not stay up without that tape on it that the prior owner applied. I cannot seem to figure out what’s broken...

Anyone having luck with estate sales in there area?

Decent luck here and there I usually don’t find much in the way of vintage vacs, but I do frequently go to the estate sales, and have had some good finds over many sales the last few years. I go to pretty much every estate sale held in my county, and will even go into neighboring ones if I see...

    Hoover Celebrity update

Hoover does still make wands with those plastic clips, for the Portapower Commercial. But, it would be chrome and wouldn’t have the power nozzle clips on it.

    NZ's GE Swivel Top

Very cool machine in that color! It’s interesting seeing what GE did in different countries. Here in the US they changed to Premier around 1972 and were discontinued in about 1981-82. I believe in South America the Swiveltop continued into the 1990s under Black and Decker.

    Bissell lift off 3554B

I have the original version that came in red or green instead of the black. It’s similar to yours but has a switch to shut off the brushroll for hard floors and it doesn’t have that front filter. Mine was made in 1995, I think they came out in 1994.

    Bagged thrift store sightings

That Eureka Boss Smartvac is a good machine. Full size attachments, two wands and shuts off the brushroll for hard floors or when the handle is upright for tool use.

Vintage Hoover Dimension 1000 Powermatic canister set - Local pickup in East Plano, TX

That machine appears to be from April 1988 from the serial number. A new replacement dusting brush in black would be readily available on eBay.
