    Patience testing Kirby

That's a very good question regarding a rubber gasket. Would make more sense

    Patience testing Kirby

And a quick polish to finish off with. Hopefully I won't have to strip it down again for many years. I've learned a few lessons along the way too... such as don't try to cut the corner of not sealing the fan case! Going to give it 24 hours to make sure the sealer has dried before using again...

    Patience testing Kirby

After cleaning up the excess silicone sealant that had been pressed out when tightening the fan case back up.... Small amount is visible inside of the fan case but this will wear off with use.

    Patience testing Kirby

At the end of last year / start of this year my Kirby developed a power supply issue. I opened up the machine, had a quick visual check for loose wires and blew the motor area out with compressed air as inside had built up a layer of light fluff and dust. The issue seemed to go away for a...

    Kirby fan change question...

I got the Kirby out tonight. Opened it up, loosened the fan off (it wasn't on as tight as I thought) and then retightened it finger tight and then a little extra pinch for good measure. I'm now happy that I've not over tightened. Also gave the machine a wipe down and a bit of a polish and may...

    Dyson V8 Animal

Yeah the V6 runtime is 20 minutes with a suction only tool attached, 16 minutes with a motorised tool and 6 minutes on MAX mode. The V8 is 40 minutes with a suction only tool, 25 minutes with motorised tool and 7 minutes on MAX mode. Charge time goes up from 3.5 hours on the V6 to 5 hours on...

This video made my laugh :)

LOL made me laugh too! I looked at buying a Rotator powered lift away a few months back as Rodger seems to rave about them on his youtube review videos but when I tried it out in store I found felt very cheap and plasticy. The lack of parts backup also put me off. Ended up buying a Miele instead

    Dyson V8 Animal

Henrydreyfuss - Yes the hose does swivel at the machine end. But I'd much rather have a longer hose like that of the V6 rather than the swivelling feature. I gave a rather filthy car (not mine) a clean today and used the V8.... battery run time was great, More than enough... I'd never of been...

What's Most Important To You: Filtration, Airflow, or Ergonomics?

Ergonomics first for me. I have a Kirby Sentria II that I bought brand new but rarely use these days as it is much quicker and easier to vacuum the house with my cylinder Miele C3 Cat & Dog. Noise level is also an issue for me.... I much prefer the silent power of the Miele.

    Dyson V8 Animal

With the cash outlay of £280 for the V8 with the extra tool kit I couldn't resist. Although even the woman in Currys remarked it was still rather expensive for a cleaner bought mainly for the car LOL Had I not had the gift card to lower the cash price I wouldn't of bought one

    Dyson V8 Animal

LOL yeah Sebo4me I agree they are somewhat overpriced.... especially when they're not on offer! The fact I had 130 on a gift card swayed me when it came to buying one. Price aside though they are great machines

    Dyson V8 Animal

All in all I'm very pleased with it. I'll try not to part with this one as when it comes to car cleaning I know I'll regret it. My 'main' house vacuum is a Miele C3 Cat & Dog and I have a Numatic Henry for less glamorous jobs and the cars... but its SOOOO much easier just being able to nip out...

    Dyson V8 Animal

From what I've observed so far they have improved just about every aspect on the V8 from the V6. I've given it a wiz around the house and it has picked up loads. My only criticism is that they have shortened the flexible hose that comes in the extra tool kit. When you compare the picture of...

    Dyson V8 Animal

The mini motorised turbo brush is now fitted with the 'new' style brush roll and is a VAST improvement giving much better grooming. Pics of V6 and V8 tools for comparison...

    Dyson V8 Animal

The main cleaner head has been tweaked. The carbon fibre brushes for hard floors seem much fuller and longer and the stiff red brushes for carpets seem much harder and seem to groom a lot better. They have also fitted a triangular shaped rubber seal to the rear of the head instead of the...

    Dyson V8 Animal

Back in 2015 I bought a Dyson V6 Total Clean. I loved it. I was amazed at how it performed as well as a corded machine and how convenient it was to use. As the months wore on and the novelty wore off I became increasingly frustrated by how difficult it could be to empty. Fluff and cat hair would...

    Kirby fan change question...

Thanks. I was concerned that the fan being on hand tight would cause extra stress on the bearings or something

    Kirby fan change question...

As some of you may remember I recently had to install a new power switch on my Sentria II. While I had the machine in bits I also changed the fan as the old one had some slight damage. All genuine parts... full fan kit with the new belt shaft and little washers and seals ect. My question is...

    One sorry looking Sebo....

Did she take your advice and empty it though Chris? Strange as it is, I love that musty smell bagged vacuums make after they've been stood for a few days. I'm almost disappointed that the anti odour filter on my Miele works so well.... And Electroluxxxx.... The Sebo X range are also badged...
