    Thanks! Mine does not go all the way down either. There is a spot where the metal is worn down on the nozzle from the headlight cover hitting it.

    I found this Kirby Heritage at a thrift store last friday. It had a sign on it that said "needs work". It turned out to just be a broken fan blade. The vacuum was only $10.00. I put a new fan in and it runs great now. This one is cool because it has the small nozzle.

    Great find! There are two screws on the bottom of the cleaner that hold the hood on. After you remove those it comes right off. Hope that helps. Samuel

    I stopped by my favorite thrift store yesterday and found this Hoover convertible model u4387. It was only $5.00 and is in good condition. I took it apart and gave it a good cleaning. I was going to grease the lower bearing but it looks like a sealed bearing. Did Hoover change to a sealed...

    I tend to like convertibls a bit more but I have had Eureka uprights in the past and they are great cleaners too. Here are two of my convertibls, a model 728 and a model 65.

    I went to a thrift store yesterday and found this Hoover convertible model 69. It was very dirty and has alot of replacement parts but it was only $5.00! I cleaned it up and greased the lower bearing last night. It runs great!
