Here's what I brought home today from Goodwill. I gave $3 for the Eureka, $2 for the hand vac, around $1 for the Kirby accessories by weight and my favorite $2 for the vintage Kenmore Kwik Sweep! Tomorrow will bring many more. Anybody who wants any of them raise your hand.

I never thought about the noise thing. I haven't even tried the tool, only thought it was a great idea. I know my Kirby hoses are quite long, hadn't thought about that.

They only sell used Dysons because they have to. What else does a vac shop do with a Dyson when someone trades it in on a decent machine like a Simplicity, Miele, Sanitaire, etc.?

IDK... what model number is the Sanitaire? The electro-hygiene has good suction but I have done literally nothing to it at all. It could really use a good working through.

I have a Classic III box that I could give up. It's not really in good shape at all, lots of discoloration and tears, but it is intact.

I didn't cut anything down at all. They were basically identical vacuums. I spent more time cleaning the two of them than actually piecing the good parts together. I love the bag, though and I really love how when you take a picture of it the Kenmore reflects off of the base.
