    Hoover H bags

I'm known to stuff a full sized F&G HEPA bag into a C bag convertible.

    F&G bag spillage

You can buy a new outer bag that takes paper bags and connects to that latch on bag connector.

    Question about this floor nozzle

Tom is right It’s a fit all attachment. Most commonly sold in a kit with central vacuums. I’ve got a couple sets.

    Royal 7300

I felt these things were better than average cleaners, really, this is the direction I think Royal should have taken with their line. I honestly feel had they concentrated on these, and moved away from the all metal machine sooner, the brand may have remained relevant.

Why not to use car wash vacs

Sucking up water in them makes a God-awful mess, BUT they are designed in a way that it shouldn't damage the machine.

    Apraisal ?

I don't really feel vacuums hold or gain any value. With a few exceptions, most collectors look at every dime we spend on vacuums as money that is gone and not coming back, which is why most of us hate spending much on these old things. I dearly love and get tons of enjoyment from the finding...

Why not to use car wash vacs

I tend to prefer using my own central vac over those stand alone car wash vacuums, as it's substantially more powerful. I do really enjoy using some of these newer carwash central vacs though!

    Dry Cleaning

I'm not typically a fan of the bonnet cleaning method, as I feel it only cleans the very top of the fibers, not down even in the middle of the nap, let alone the bottom. And also, with this method you really need to be using a cleaning chemical that will encapsulate as it dries, basically it...

    Riccar Radiance Premium Dirt Sensor

Let me make sure I understand correctly, are the amber lights staying on or not turning off? Things tend to get caught in there and make the lights stay on, as something Is stuck in the path of the infrared beam. If they aren't coming on, I'd be more worried about a problem with the electronics...

    Disinfecting vacuum hoses...

It does smell bad, and when most people ask me what they can do about it, I tell them the only good solution is to stop venting vacuum cleaner exhaust back into the room with you. Couldn't even tell you what the bag in my vacuum smells like, but our dog is one with a dryer coat, so her hair...

    Disinfecting vacuum hoses...

that wet dog smell from the breakdown of keratin in the hair This is actually caused by the lanolin (oil in the skin) that is on the hair. You'll notice that some dogs have dryer coats than others, the more oily their coat, the more smell you will get as that lanolin gets rancid and begins to...

    Disinfecting vacuum hoses...

Here's a very heavy enzymatic detergent that I find works very well. https://powerizerclean.com

    F&G bag spillage

@rivstg1: The key to the bags he's using is in the second link. Its a tube that attaches to the typical F&G tube, has a rubber thing at the bottom that, with the bag spring, seals on the tube, and then allows you attach the top fill bag.

    Disinfecting vacuum hoses...

I even run the electric ones through, all you have to do is let the things dry thoroughly.

    Disinfecting vacuum hoses...

I run them through a dishwasher. Just don’t use the heated dry.

    F&G bag spillage

That is the ultimate solution, makes for an easier bag change and more commonly available HEPA bags that fit it.

    F&G bag spillage

Turning the machine upside down, like Tom said, is how I handle it. You can also try and make sure that all the dirt falls onto the floor rather than into the outer bag, then vacuum it up when the new bag is in.

    Here’s an odd one!!!

So it’s a wet/dry machine. From what I’ve learned from Tania (she’s the Silver King expert) this normally would have used a larger version of the flat round disk filters. Mine came with what was called the ‘moleskin bag’ which was used for lots of bulk pickup of finer dirts like plaster or soot...

    Here’s an odd one!!!

I know not everyone is as fascinated with these machines, but I go nuts over both strange commercial vacuums, and Silver Kings. Why not combine the two! Here’s a Thompson Bypass!
