    Oreck XL insight

Personally I'd take an Oreck over a Kirby. Even though Kirbys are more powerful, they're definitely heavier and bulkier for my taste. I like that Orecks are simpler to use, easier to service, and I can reach to places that a Kirby would have a harder time to get like underneath a bed.

    Won the 90s vacuum lottery!!!

Wooden brushrolls that turns dark overtime is completely normal, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The filter can be removed if you pull it out slightly and lift up. Sounds a bit confusing on my end but here's a video reference.

Rainbow e2 series HEPA filter foaming after rinsing it as instructed, now what?

Replace it Those washable filters are terrible to clean out. If you don't use a blower of yours, I'd recommend switching over to this other filter instead whether it's genuine or generic. Try to run it without the filter first to see if it's still making a weird noise or not. If so, then you...

    What Happened To FantomTechGuy

I like Fantoms more as a collector but not as a consumer. They were very cool and interesting looking machines when I was younger. I still stand from my other post that Fantom would've easily gone out of business the second time because overall, they really aren't good machines. Personally, I...

    1984 Hoover Sensotronic S3128

I'd love the find a US version called the Electronic 1000. Fell in love with it when I first saw one. https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?2878

Black & Decker "The Collector" AC8000 Handheld Vac

I don't personally mind the dump out bag on my DirtVac, but it doesn't have as many layers as the Dirt Devil 103 and it doesn't have a proper seal.

    Won the 90s vacuum lottery!!!

I love mine. I would've liked it more if it had a height adjuster and a geared belt. Thankfully the Bissell BGU1500T/BGU1800T does have both of them and you can use them as a canister but they'd be more awkward to carry than this.

    What Happened To FantomTechGuy

Honestly There's no way he'd be able to revive the original Fantom company, I simply chose to not say anything until now. Even if he was successful of doing so, Fantom would've quickly went bankrupt all over again. But he should be grateful that WMJ Refurbishing is still making and selling the...

The verdict is in: SHOCKINGLY AWESOME

This machine also reminds me of the blue Dirt Devil Vibe Quick Vac I used to own. That vacuum took me by surprise. When I upgraded it to a Eureka belt, it was picking up grit that I didn't even know was still on the carpet. I regretted getting rid of it. But if this Dirt Devil has similar if not...

Anyone ever used a Dirt Devil Platinum Force Hand Vacuum?

I've used one before. I liked it but my only criticism is the bagless design. Thankfully the filter is easy to maintain, I just use another vacuum to clean it out. I'd definitely take one over a Dirt Devil Ultra.

Bag Change after 8 and 1/2 Months

I wish Kirby was still selling HEPA paper bags. Kirby is one of the only few vacuums at least for direct air machines I'd use paper over cloth bags. Mainly because the problem with portables unlike central vacs are the smelly odors coming out while you're vacuuming. And no matter what I do to...

Bag Change after 8 and 1/2 Months

Cirrus has definitely been around in the 00's, I first saw them in person from my old local vacuum store before 2010. You are correct that there are other brands they were sold under as before. Even that's still the thing today but no one else has done it longer than Cirrus.

Whats the dirtiest vacuums you've seen?

I washed both bags separately and put lots of dirty rags/towels in with it. I thought about rewashing them again cause they didn't smelled as fresh as the outer bag from the NSS PACER 30 I also had serviced, but then decided against it. Nonetheless, this turned out WAY better than washing them...

Bag Change after 8 and 1/2 Months

Glad to hear you're still enjoying your machine. I like that Cirrus is similar to companies such as SEBO where they've been making these machines for so long where I shouldn't have to worry about tracking parts for them, you'd basically keep running it forever. I think it was in the late 2000's...

Whats the dirtiest vacuums you've seen?

I just serviced a couple of NSS M1 PIG outer bags today. I highly doubt the blue bag has ever been cleaned before but the grey one, definitely either a paper bag ripped or someone didn't put the bag on correctly cause there's dust and dirt all over inside. I had to use a big commercial washer to...

25 Years Of The New Millenium: Vacuum Edition

Indeed Actually Eureka (and Sanitaire) were owned by Electrolux AB since 1974. But in 2000, Aerus LLC formerly known as Electrolux Corp. USA, sold the Electrolux naming rights back to Electrolux AB and later renamed the company Aerus in 2004. But before the transfer was completed, there was a...

The verdict is in: SHOCKINGLY AWESOME

I'd never own a Shark unless it's for collectability but there aren't very much models to find of my interest. They're so bad that for example (I just recently thought of this) I have a friend who owns a log cabin with a Shark vacuum and the very first thing I'd do if I acquired the place from...

25 Years Of The New Millenium: Vacuum Edition

Didn't IONA started assembling Fantoms in the states at the time? I know they did but wasn't sure when though. Riccar and Simplicity weren't exactly better back then at least in the year 2000. They've made some improvements over the years and later expanded. The only thing I can think of that...

The verdict is in: SHOCKINGLY AWESOME

William The best Dirt Devils ever made are the ones TTI partnered with from H-P Products. Their centrals blow all their other vacuums out of the water. If I can own any Dirt Devil regardless if their older models are still being made or not, it'd be a central vac even if I just only used it...
