    Electrolux ZC90

You're welcome, Anthony. Glad your resto is off to a great start. Thanks for the information, Doug. I hadn't considered that the second letter of European model designations actually stood for descriptors; I just thought they were randomly selected and only indicated a country's electrical...

    1972 Eureka F & G Promo Model Ad

The 2073-A was a slight upgrade from the 2072-A with Edge Kleener channels in the base plate, so your 2073-A's original handle was swapped out and the switch moved to the base. I also wonder if the motor has been replaced unless it just needs maintenance, because the original ones were not that...

Comparison/Contrast Model Table & Photos Special thanks to Doug Smith (Collector2) who provided most of the photos and other information posted on his website and to Nick (texbodemer) for posting Eureka's May 1910-May 1964 Shipping Record on another thread. Thanks also to Buffalo-Joe who...

    A couple of Electrolux 1401s

I've used that on my car with great results, too. Part of the appeal of your photos is the ornamental throw rug and floor tile styling—which were popular when the 1401 was being manufactured. Anyway—great work, once again.

    Vibra-Groomer II with Square Ends

Re: Replies #3 & #8 Looks like you were correct, Brian & Kenny. I only hedge, because of Eureka's affinity for variety—ha. For example, Kenny, I wouldn't be surprised if the last Automatic upright, circa 1978, and other budget model-types were still being made with the square end fittings...

    Eureka Vacuums History

Brian, I just realized that you thought I'd said that the 910-B in reply #65 was Lagoon Blue. I was just explaining why initially I wasn't sure if it was a 910-B or the later 910-B-A— then I figured that the 910-B-A would have been enameled in Lagoon Blue & White due to it's later production.

    Eureka Vacuums History

I thought both the 910 & 960 were Super Rot-Matics according to their ads. Since Eureka Williams phased out the model name after 1961 maybe that's what you meant. According to the shipping record, the Lagoon Blue & White 260-A was first shipped in December 1960, so I used that as the...

Electrolux Corp. Model XXX and Model LX - Weights ... ? for Alex Taber

I'm glad you responded so quickly, Alex. I was slightly concerned that we'd miss each other's posts for awhile as we've done before. I figured you'd probably have the knowledge, but I wanted to test you anyway. :) Thanks for the thread number from the archives. I look forward to reading...

    Electrolux ZC90

You're welcome, Anthony and Doug. Thank you, Anthony, for the photos. Sometime soon I'll do a patent number search and let you know what I find. Past experience tells me that many of the numbers are common among several models such as general features and tools. US patents of the main design...

Electrolux Corp. Model XXX and Model LX - Weights ... ? for Alex Taber

Hi Alex, I have no recollection of seeing the actual weight measurements of the Model XXX or Model LX stated on Vacuumland or elsewhere. However, I came across an online preview of the 1954 Consumers' Research Annual Cumulative Bulletin which did. I am taking for granted that neither had a...

    Eureka Vacuums History

Model 910-B It occurred to me that the 910-B-A, produced from Jan. 1962 - Mar. 1963, would have been enameled in Lagoon Blue & White, so the attached photo, originally posted by massagemiracle but unidentified by model-type, is actually a Model 910-B as the 910 was in yellow & gray. The only...

    Vibra-Groomer II with Square Ends

History & Patents The first "Disturbulator" reference I located was in 1939; although no vacuum cleaner model was associated with it. Oddly, however, Eureka waited to trademark the name until 1944. The only brush roll patent I located around this time was one that appears to be for the...

    Electrolux ZC90

Patent I happened upon what appears to be your Luxomatic's patent on Google patents while searching for Electrolux USA patents. In the US, production often begins when around the time of the application of a patent, so I wonder now if the ZC90's launch was prior to 1965 as the patent's...

    Electrolux ZC90

Congrats! Flaws notwithstanding that's an awesome vintage European Electrolux and one of my personal favorites. That sage green and light grey combo is attractive and reminiscent of the mid- to late Sixties green that was so prevalent even in the U.S. Electrolux also produced a...

Hopefully you'll find another freebie for replacement parts. Keep us posted if you do—those stories are among the best at Vacuumland. Good thing you kept that Elite hose.

    A couple of Electrolux 1401s

Awesome pics, Ray. I have no recollection of anyone else posting photos of the two model 1401s at Vacuumland or elsewhere. They look stunning together—especially because of of their sheen. What polish did you use?

    Eureka Model 1414 Bicentennial Edition

Motor Amps I used to think that the 3.5A motor rating indicated the headlight's draw compared to the supposed non-headlight 3.3A rating. As I was reviewing the table I previously posted today, it occurred to me that I must have used that logic to put '3.3A' for the model 2014, as I was unable...
