Electrolux Genesis LX model 1685 repair c. 1990

Hi JJ! Attached are a Hesco schematic and accompanying parts list for Electrolux/ProTeam, Inc. Prolux 1400/1400X L-shape nozzle uprights (Electrolux had its own Prolux industrial uprights for a time, too); the two companies had (and possibly still do) a partnership involving that design and...

    Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Lawsuits

Re: Reply #9 "Something must have happened to cause all Eureka vacuums to have the following warning clearly displayed on all their hose handles: 'Electric shock could occur if used outdoors or on wet surfaces.'” Hey Brian, I did some recollecting and researching on the matter. Eureka wasn't...

    Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Lawsuits

I'm unsure if it brought about any lawsuits, but the Aerus/Electrolux ponytail cord on upright vacuums it produced from 1991 to 1993 did result in some injuries, and Aerus agreed to pay a civil penalty of $250K in 2002 to avoid incurring more legal fees but denying that it violated Consumer...

Another Electrolux Olympia lands at Casa Electrolux!

Great gift and what a shining duo on the winners' podium of vintage vacuum quality and appearance! The two 1979 owners' manuals picture the hoses sans the cuff, so the 1401-B is likely a 1980 production.

    2 Electrolux B9 Designs—United States & Sweden

Cool—please post some photos, including the ratings plate. As for the last run, you can still use on the LVT with the scrub brushes & buffing pads.

    2 Electrolux B9 Designs—United States & Sweden

The B-9 Floor Beautifier in 2-tone gray (presumably 550W/120V as its DJ successor) was only made for about a year to replace the longtime model B-8 Carpet Beautifier-Floor Polisher before being succeeded by the B-10/1522 Diamond Jubilee version (literature stated "B-10", while the ratings plate...

    Electrolux Ornaments—Model XXX, 4 Model G versions, 50th Jubilee/Super J, Olympia One

Not my sale or anyone I know ... 3-D printed and painted. The 50th Jubilee/Super J one is incongruent to the actual cleaners due to having fins on its bumpers, which were only on the Olympia One 1401-B & 1505 and Silverado Deluxe 1505. It may be that uprights will be made along with worldwide...

    One of my favorite Electroluxes

Spectacular cleaner and wonderful back story! Is that the actual one that belonged to your parents? I know that you appreciate minutiae, so here's an observation and theory: it seems to me that 'tan' is more descriptive of the contemporaneous Model L's paint color; and the Model G's was more...

American Lincoln Super Sweep (Mid 1970s)

Ben, Your link is broken, so I'll give it a go. Here's a VL link to another American-Lincoln Super Sweep thread #39793, as well: https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?39793 And the eBay listing of the model 18 photos for future reference followed by a 1977 ad and a 1968...

Electrolux Ambassador ... Model Z337 from Australia

I had no idea that an Electrolux made in a country outside the US and CA was given an identifier besides Lux-O-Matic; and that it matched one used by the US and CA Electrolux companies in the 1980s to early '90s. The Z337 is similar in design to the UK's unnamed Z330.

Hoover U4313 curb save - fix or scrap?

Going by what I have read about the Hoover Guardsmans on this site (several models were made), I agree with Edgar that it's definitely worth the cost of repairing it—whether by you or someone else; unless the motor is shot. I searched online using the part number and found at least one for sale...

    Attachments

Manufacturing of Plastic Parts & Attachments I discovered that Eureka Williams purchased Napco Plastics Company (1954) of Napoleon, Ohio in 1960, just prior to being purchased itself by National Union Electric Company of Greenwich, Connecticut. Napco was retained by AB Electrolux/White...

    Eureka 1981-1984 Animated Ad Campaign

You bet, Brian! I did some exploring after seeing the critters in an ad I located for Edgar's Roto-Matic Power Team. I always appreciate personal stories like yours that give facts and specs more fun and meaning, so thank you, too! As you can imagine, I went searching for a Eureka carton with...

Mid-Late 1930s Health Mor Sanitation System with Attachment Set

Impressive—congratulations on the resto and acquiring OEM parts and attachments. Check with Rugsucker (Supermarket thread #46056) for possible OEM parts. Another thought is to find a Health More manual or other literature that lists service centers and check out online ads (e.g. FB, Craigslist)...

    New Vacuum Finds

Re: Replies 8 & 9 Eurekaboy's blue Eureka is a 2058-AT according to a YT video. Although its bag cover matches the hood like the 2084's, I doubt that it's original due to the fact that I only located 1983 ads for it with a different bag cover style, and Eureka discontinued that "kaleidoscope"...
