    Rare Vintage Penncrest stick vac

Correction - Reply #17 Thanks, Will; two pairs of eyes are always better than one. So, I went back and checked the JCP catalogs for clarification—although 1965 and 1967 Spring/summer and fall/winter catalogs are omitted so far on the website—and discovered that Penncrest also carried two...

    Eureka 123

Model # Table To my knowledge, these are all the Eureka "Lightweight" broom vac models produced from 1963 to 1984; although one can never be certain with Eureka with all its variations. Information is mainly from newspaper ads which are not always 100% in information or accuracy, so suggested...

Bradford (Eureka) Lightweight 55407-OA Found on Etsy ...I think this is the equivalent to Eureka's "Super 95" Lightweight stick vac (the 100-A had a different nozzle). Photos: 1-3. Bradford 4-6. Eureka

    Electrolux ZC90

Thanks, Doug. Did the 80 & AP series have the bag lock-out function? Did any CA models have the whistle feature? Nice work, Anthony.

    Eureka 640 A, 500 series

I'd wondered about the similarity, too, Brian. I think I saw one on Doug's website and meant to ask you about it. Until now I'd thought that Singer restyled and rebadged Eurekas, but was uniformed that the reverse also happened. Was this the only instance? Btw, the earliest 550 ad I located...

    Eureka 640 A, 500 series

The 640-A was part of the 600 Series Eurekas sold at Kmart and other discount department stores. It is, in fact, the same design as the 550-A; although it may have been made with less quality parts or accessorized in such a way as to be more budget-friendly. I located newspaper ads for it...

Electrolux '50s, '60s & '70s Side-By-Side Guide This is an old thread but just right for this post with its international Electrolux discussion and photos. We can start a new thread if needed, but I couldn't pass up starting on this one with all its information. I should point out to newbies...

My first of this era Electrolux!

Yeah, you have some cleaning and polishing to do, but it'll be worth it. The 'ZR' series is definitely among the last of the teal blue 1205s, because the 50th Golden Jubilee ones that succeeded them in 1974 also had the 'Z' prefix.

My first of this era Electrolux!

Congratulations, Barry! I'm guessing that the textured 1205s signified something like the pairing of the PN-2 in 1973 or a motor upgrade. I typically see textured 1205 with PN-2s; and certain 1205s had issues like the terminal block on the side mounting melting (fixed with a repair kit), or...

Electrux on Ratings Plate of Electrolux UK Cleaner

'Electrux' 1927/1928 Trademark Given the fact that it was a German patent, my theory is that the German Electrolux factory, which opened in 1926, produced the Electrux models; and maybe even designed them. It's possible that politically-speaking "Made in Germany" on the name plates at the time...

    Electrolux ZC90

Nice work so far, Anthony. I like your thrift and jerry-rigging to make to a workable hose. Nice, too, that the original hose is saved for either future repair or appearance. Glad that soaking the nut overnight worked to get it loose. Hope you're able to get a replacement bearing soon...

    Eureka Vacuums History

Hold on to your hat, Brian ... EUREKA! I just added a puzzle piece! The attached online photo shows another model that was a 50th Anniversary model (805-B or 805-BA)! Photo 2 is a corresponding preview that verifies it. So there were actually three golden anniversary models! Keep a lookout...

Canadian Electrolux history from Doug in Moose Jaw

80 Series Patents Filed in 1958 Hey Doug, I happened to locate the Electrolux Canada 80 Series patents in my AB Electrolux search for Anthony's ZC90a patents. I'd forgotten that at that time AB was the parent company of the CA subsidiary. Most parts were invented by Raymond Descarries, Edward...

    Electrolux ZC90

Hey Doug, Yeah, I figured it was a long shot; although I also found that ZF was the Finland designation, so that fit the pattern. I do think that Electrolux Corporation used model letters to denote a main feature of all its cleaners launched from 1954 to 1965 (not just those identified on the...
